Kiliya receives 7 generators for critical infrastructure from UNICEF, Lithuania – regional administration
Generators for the critical infrastructure of Kiliya (Izmail district of Odesa region) and the Kiliya community were installed on Wednesday, said the head of Odesa regional military administration, Oleh Kiper.
"Today, seven powerful generators for critical infrastructure facilities arrived in Kiliya community and have already been installed ... Two were provided through UNICEF assistance. Another five were delivered with the support of Ukraine's Ministry of Energy and Lithuanian partners," Kiper wrote on Telegram Wednesday.
According to him, following recent enemy shelling, parts of the city and settlements within the community were left without stable electricity and water supply. The operation of life-support systems was disrupted, causing serious hardship for residents.
The Kiliya urban community, in addition to the city itself, includes 10 villages consolidated into eight administrative districts. The community's total population in 2022 was 33,700 people. The community borders the Danube River, which forms the state boundary with Romania.
