Plans to restore, upgrade protection of energy facilities ready, to be submitted to NSDC – Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said plans to restore and upgrade the protection of energy facilities in certain regions are ready and will be submitted for approval to the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), and called for greater involvement of local authorities in sharing best practices.
"Today there was an important meeting with our government officials, energy specialists and the military – everyone responsible for protecting and upgrading our infrastructure and Ukraine's energy sector. Detailed regional plans have already been prepared – for restoration and for upgrading the protection of energy facilities, taking into account everything Russia did this winter and what it may do further. I instructed that certain points be finalized and that the plans be prepared for submission to the NSDC – to approve at the national level exactly what needs to be done, what must be ensured and who will be responsible," Zelenskyy said in his evening video address on Friday.
The president said he was counting "on maximum involvement of regional and local authorities."
"It is necessary to share the good practices that exist in some regions and communities with others that faced more problems and unresolved issues this winter. Local authorities can make the greatest contribution to community resilience, as they know which facilities most urgently require modernization and protection," he said.
According to Zelenskyy, "the government and all state institutions will provide support."
