The Supreme Court did not convene to hear the Poroshenko case; the politician blamed Iryna Mudra

The Cassation Administrative Court within the Supreme Court did not hold a hearing on Friday regarding the lawsuit filed by People's Deputy of Ukraine and European Solidarity party leader Petro Poroshenko to challenge NSDC sanctions imposed against him.

The hearing was due to begin at 10:00, but, as Poroshenko told journalists at a briefing, it became clear a few minutes before the start that the judges were absent.

"A Supreme Court hearing was due to take place today. We were told the court had been cancelled. It is not known when the next hearing will be. Nobody knows. Why? Because the authorities fear the law, justice and fairness,โ€ said the politician.

Poroshenko told journalists that Iryna Mudra, Deputy Head of the Presidentโ€™s Office, was behind the disruption of the Supreme Court hearing, which was due to announce a ruling today on Petro Poroshenkoโ€™s lawsuit seeking the lifting of sanctions.

The politician's lawyer, Ilya Novikov, clarified that they received a phone message on the eve, April 2, regarding the cancellation of the hearing, but the court secretariat did not specify the reason or the rescheduled dates.

"This information could mean different things: that a judge fell ill and the hearing will take place next week, or that a judge has withdrawn and the process will have to start over, even though it has been ongoing since April 2025," Novikov noted.

According to Poroshenko, the case is being considered under a simplified procedure, which envisages reaching a decision within a reasonable timeframeโ€”a maximum of two months. However, as he emphasized, "a year has passed, and there is no decision."
