Poroshenko hands over 5 more Ai-Petri systems to troops to protect frontline
Ukrainian MP and European Solidarity party leader Petro Poroshenko has handed over five more Ai-Petri counter-technical reconnaissance systems to the military for use in protecting combat formations on the front line, according to the party's website.
"Modern war is a war of technology. In recent days, Ukrainian cities have come under record attacks by Russian Shahed drones and ballistic missiles. Half of the drones are diverted from their targets thanks to electronic warfare systems, including Ai-Petri," Poroshenko said.
According to him, the systems are a unique development of Ukraine's defense industry.
Poroshenko said the new systems are intended for Ground Forces units to shield combat formations from attacking enemy unmanned systems.
The politician also commented on the domestic political situation. "This is not a parliamentary crisis, it is a crisis of power. The reasons are corruption and incompetence. If they fought the way they govern, the situation at the front would be much worse," he said.
He added that his team continues to strengthen the Armed Forces on a weekly basis. "We are helping defend Ukraine," Poroshenko said.
Since the autumn of 2023, Poroshenko has invested more than UAH 200 million in the production of Ai-Petri SV systems, which already cover 1,000 kilometers of the line of combat engagement. In total, the troops have received more than 250 units.
