Ukraine ends the first competitive day of the 2026 Paralympics in Milan and Cortina dβAmpezzo in first place with a result of six medals: 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, reports Suspilne sport.
The Ukrainian team achieved a triple podium in the visually impaired class competition: Ukrainians won all three medals - Oleksandr Kazik took gold, Yaroslav Reshetynsky silver and Anatoliy Kovalevsky bronze.
Kyiv region representative Oleksandra Kononova won gold in the para-biathlon sprint race in the standing class at the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games. This is the fifth Paralympic gold medal of her career and third in para-biathlon. She also has three golds in cross-country skiing, Kyiv regional authorities reported.
