Germany delivers PAC-3 interceptor missiles for Patriot — Ministry of Defense
Germany has delivered a new batch of interceptor missiles to Ukraine, strengthening its defense capabilities against ballistic and hypersonic missiles, according to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"PAC-3 for Patriot are already in Ukraine. These missiles shoot down Kinzhal, Iskander, and Zircon missiles," the statement reads.
The Ministry noted that PAC-3 missiles destroy targets via a direct kinetic strike (hit-to-kill). They reach speeds of up to 6,170 km/h, have an operational range of up to 45 km, and an interception altitude of up to 12 km. The missiles utilize active homing and do not require constant target illumination. A Patriot system equipped with PAC-3 can engage up to 16 targets without reloading.
"Strengthening sky defense is a key task of Ukraine’s War Plan. The goal is to identify 100% of threats and intercept at least 95% of missiles and drones," the Ministry emphasized.
