De-TU1ification

History sections on most pages will say that features present from launch in Xbox 360 Edition were added in TU1. We now know this to be very much wrong; the launch version (base game) is actually TU0, and there are also pages on several pre-release builds.

It would probably be a good idea to change these alleged TU1 additions to either build 0016 (the earliest build we know the version number of), or perhaps some other placeholder value indicating some initial development version since the goal was to have feature parity with Beta 1.6.6, right? - User-12316399 (talk) 01:28, 4 March 2026 (UTC)

I've long considered this problem of what to do when the start of a game's history is semi fuzzy and still dont have a general answer on what to do. On another wiki I kinda just have "| Release || – || [Feature] is present since the earliest version of [Game]. ", not linking to anything. Coming up with a general solution of handle that would be a good brainstorming activity.
For this case, if we have to pick one Id say we put in TU0 as it is the first general user playable form, right? You buy the disc and play offline you don't get TU1? Then TU0 should be the earliest ver in tables instead of TU1, yes. But, that just pushes the can along and the question then becomes what to put in the dev ver column.  Nixinova  T ⁄ C  01:58, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
I'm not trying to be nitpicky at all here, but discs have TU10 on them, iirc 👁 Image

Whatever source was on the disc on day 1 of release would be the canonical First Ver.  Nixinova  T ⁄ C  02:36, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
If you bought the game digitally and delete all update data you end up on TU0, so that should be the first version. The disc for Xbox 360 Edition was released ~1 year later than the digital version, so I wouldn't consider it the "canonical" first version. --Capopanzo (talk | contribs) 02:40, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
See, this seems like the logical choice, and is what I would go for... if we didn't also have builds from before then, with those same features present. - User-12316399 (talk) 02:46, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
Ah, disc came later. Then yes, what you said is it.  Nixinova  T ⁄ C  02:45, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
Would it be fair to go for some new special wildcard "initial development" parameter that technically includes all pre-TU0 builds, unless we have some good reason to be more granular about things than this? - User-12316399 (talk) 19:46, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
Well we can just do that already as |dev=initial development|devlink=Xbox 360 Edition TU0/Development.  Nixinova  T ⁄ C  23:38, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
It'll see widespread use, though. Could the history template be changed so that devlink= isn't required? - User-12316399 (talk) 11:16, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
We can add a hardcoding yeah. What will be the wanted form for it? TU0Initial developmentAdded thing?  Nixinova  T ⁄ C  07:02, 4 April 2026 (UTC)
Personally I think we should just say these things were added in TU0 and leave it at that. There is very little reason to specify anything earlier since most things were already implemented to Beta 1.6.6 standard by the time of the earliest known builds. 👁 Image

This is also a fair solution.  Nixinova  T ⁄ C  02:38, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
Moving to forum since the discussion is still ongoing despite community portal archival period having elapsed. 👁 Image
