Angry Rats is a myth in Minecraft Legends developed by House of How, based on tower defense games.
The player starts the game inside a black-walled hub named the nexus, splitting in the north into three halls, each with three portals. On the south is a portal leading to the beginner's hub. The western prong, which has cyan-colored lines on the walls, consists of three portals leading to the Dark Forest, the easiest level. Only the western portal is available, the other two blocked by walls which break once the previous level has been defeated. In the middle, green-lined prong are three blocked portals leading to the Lichen Cave of medium difficulty, and the eastern, purple-colored prong has three blocked walls leading to Warren Castle of high difficulty.
Interacting with the portal south of the nexus leads to the beginner's hub, where the player can interact with Mouldywarp for an introductory guide to game mechanics. The eastern side is where the player can learn mechanics, and the western side serves as a testing field for towers.
The hub being split into three depending on difficulty, the portal to the first level of Dark Forest is available. Unlocking the second portal requires defeating the first portal, the third portal requires defeating the second portal and so on. Each portal leads to its respective battlefield, with its unique pattern of paths and rat gates. The main goal of each level is to keep the base at full health while defeating all the waves of rats.
Besides using their sword to damage the rats, the player can use towers by spending resources and placing them in the provided area. The resources are stone and wood, which generate occasionally in the form of piles the player can interact with. The player can interact with towers in order to upgrade them for more health, damage and attack rate. They may also remove towers using the tower remover in their inventory.
Below is a list of towers buildable by the player. Each tower has its unique set of attacks and damage to specific types of rats.
