how to craft a table on iPhone? This gets on my nerves because I have the game but I do not understand. It's annoying! βPreceding unsigned comment was added by 62.34.14.65 (Talk|Contribs) 12:34, 26 March 2012β. Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- See Pocket Edition. Many features of the PC version, including crafting, have not yet been implemented. -- Orthotope 21:10, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
Are they resistant to being pushed by pistons like furnaces are? If not, are the items spilled on the ground or lost?71.36.158.142 23:01, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- Crafting tables can be pushed by pistons. If you're trying to use it at the time, the interface is closed and any items in it are dropped. -- Orthotope 03:50, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
Who notices the creeper face on the crafting table?99.174.200.114 14:27, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
- I saw it too!

these are supposed to be pliers SuperCofee (talk) 22:11, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
I donβt know how long it has been like this, but the east and west faces of the crafting table use the pliers texture while the north and south faces use the saw/hammer texture. I remember at one point the model was the same as in Java Edition, but Bedrockβs model seems to have changed since then. FezEmerald (talk) 20:39, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- It appears the model was changed in Pocket Edition v0.8.0 alpha build 1, thank you for bringing this up!--Capopanzo (talk | contribs) 23:30, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- It seems like both the smithing table and the fletching table recipes on the crafting table page are incorrect. The recipes are located in
{{crafting usage}}, but i'll let an admin do the job.π Image

- This information has been added. For the record, it does not generate the same way in Java. BDJP (t|c) 10:51, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
Where is the data of the items being used to craft stored? Can I access these slots and modify them?

I'm trying to add custom crafting recipes for new items that don't entirely replace an item. Biscade (talk) 22:36, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
- Do you mean the crafting UI parts of the page? That's created by
{{Crafting}} and read from using {{Crafting usage}}. Nixinova T β C 23:07, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
- No, I mean in-game, like when I put 9 diamonds in a crafting table to make a diamond block.
- Where are the 9 diamonds stored before the diamond block is crafted (after I've put them into the crafting grid)? Are they part of the player data or is it stored in the crafting table as part of a block entity? Biscade (talk) 23:11, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
- I don't think it's either. They do not enter the player inventory (provable as you don't receive advancements til you place it in your inventory) and it's not part of the table (as multiple players can use it at the same time).
For your original Q - what do you mean by "don't replace" - do you want the original items to remain in the grid? Recipes like cake keep items in the grid when done. Nixinova T β C 00:48, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
- When I add custom items, I can't actually create a new item with a new id: I have to choose a kind of "template item" and modify its components. When defining a new crafting recipe in a datapack, you can only choose which item ids are needed and not the components of the ingredient. So if I for example choose a glowing item frame (required) as the template item for my new block, any recipe using that block will also be craftable with a glowing item frame. I would like to control what happens in the crafting by modifying the slots of the crafting table depending on what items are already inside. Biscade (talk) 15:20, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
Crafting Tables don't have the Java model
[edit source]Latest comment: 1 June9 comments3 people in discussion
Crafting Tables don't have the Java model that has the front and right faces being the plier texture. Instead of π Image
, it needs to be this:π Image

- Wdym? Are you saying the texture is different in bedrock? Nixinova T β C 04:29, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- The image shows that the one with chainsaw, hammer, and pliers is JE4 BE3; the two pliers one is JE5 but not in BE, but this isn't in history section so I don't know if that's correct. The file shows that its only usage is on this talk page, so it might just be wrong. ββMinecraftExp123(talk|contribs) 04:31, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- When did this change occur? This is not mentioned in the history section. ββMinecraftExp123(talk|contribs) 04:29, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- It was mentioned in Indev 0.31 20100131-2156. Editor31 (talk) 04:33, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- Well, then there's still a tool face adjacent to a plier face, so this render is still possible in Java. ββMinecraftExp123(talk|contribs) 04:34, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- So why is it JE5 then? Sorry can you explain what you mean in more detail? Nixinova T β C 04:35, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- Bedrock's model is different, Bedrock has the front and back faces being the hammer and saw texture, and the left and right being the pliers texture π Image
. Editor31 (talk) 04:40, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- Well, it doesn't really matter as the given render is possible in both editions. Maybe this can be mentioned in like trivia or shown somewhere in the gallery and explained in a caption, but we definitely don't need this render in body like the infobox. ββMinecraftExp123(talk|contribs) 04:41, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
