When exactly does the loot in a chest become determined? Specifically in Bedrock editioon, but I thinkk thus would be nice to know for any version. Jariesuicune (talk) 17:29, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure the contents of the chest are generated when the chunk the chest is located in is generated. Also, don't post any comments on this page, the Module Talk:LootChest is the appropriate place for them. 85.76.72.200 05:14, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

I have no idea how to fix it, but the current layout is highly impractical to navigate. A single table that is multiple screens wide and tall on a regular full HD monitor, which the horizontal scroll bar hidden somewhere at the bottom is essentially not usable. Can we get some ideas on how to better present the information? RealWormbo (talk) 20:23, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
1.14 reformuled the villages. please add the information to History section.

The loot table doesn't appear to work - it shows "Template: Loot Chest".
- "Hidden categories: Pages where template include size is exceeded"
- The table may need to be split? --AttemptToCallNil (report bug, view backtrace) 18:01, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
- This is still broken Minomelo (talk) 01:09, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
- Fixed by using a raw invokation; this is probably just kicking the can down the road, however. Nixinova ββT β C 22:56, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
The chest-loot-related pages suggest that most of the enchanted items in chest loots have equal probability for all enchantments, including treasure enchantments. But in Bedrock Edition (I'm playing on bedrock), it seems that the "random enchantments" are actually random level enchantments on an enchanting table. Because as far as I've found, enchantments on these enchanted items have these features that are extremely similar to enchantments applied by a regular enchanting table:
- There can be one or multiple enchantments.
- Levels of the enchantments can be high or low, and if one enchantment has higher(lower) level, all others on the item are higher(lower) in level, too. And if the levels of enchantments are high, there are often multiple enchantments, or if the levels are low, there is usually only one.
- Treasure enchantments never occur (This still need confirmation, as I haven't seen many high-level-enchanted items yet and most treasure enchantments require fairly high enchantment level with low weights.)
Make this page all about chest loot instead of mostly a table {abandoned}
[edit source]
I think we should change this to be a whole page related to chest loot instead of just a table. I'll do it right now but this is a discussion. --Ewrt1 (talk) 21:22, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
Where it tries to get the Chest Loot Tables it only displays "Lua error in Module:LootChest at line 188: no valid arguments." which I'm assuming is an error. I don't know what it means though. GillBates1 (talk) 11:51, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
- I seem to have fixed it, but the template's size is bordering the limits of what is allowed AmplifiedAllie (talk) 13:05, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
This article is broken again. Can the articles be split into Java and Bedrock into two separate pages? Delvin4519 (talk) 23:02, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- Personally I would much rather see the format of data display improved rather than just split the page, we've simply outgrown what was originally made to display a dozen items from only a few sources. But I understand that is more work than a page split. Mudscape (talk) 14:56, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- I would also like this, as I play bedrock but i usally get java stats 148.252.129.10 18:31, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
Loot can now generate in other means than chests, such as barrels, vaults, suspicious blocks, etc. Chest loot no longer represents all forms in which loot can generate.
This discussion has also taken place in MCW:FEATURES, but there is also still an additional article that may warrent a move. Delvin4519 (talk) 16:14, 18 July 2024 (UTC)
- This is a limitation of the way the module is set up; all upcoming loot tables for an edition have to be for the same version. Would like to fix that, but that's not my area of expertise. π align=top

- You're the 3rd person to let this know in the space of a few days. I've completely removed these loot tables from the module until someone able to rewrite it to support experiments does. - Zamburger (talk) 18:31, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
