Recently someone (Fadyblok240, see their edits). Added a message to remove the template if the page wasn't edited some time ago. I reverted that because I would like to discuss it first. I 👁 Image
 Oppose to that because this template indicates when a page needs improving on many aspects, covering update it, rewrite it, espand it, and many other actions, and adding that make the template unnecesary for pages that really need improving. There are templates like {{Update}} that sometimes can be used instead of this one, but this is more general, and as I said it covers many aspects of improving an article. Also you could use {{In use}} instead of this one to specify that the page is being updated on that moment. Supeika (talk) 04:53, 30 November 2020 (UTC)

I wanted to add the removal message because the template is transcluded on pages that have not received an edit in months, if not years, cluttering Category:Work in progress with inactive articles. There are other templates such as {{stub}}, {{empty section}}, {{expand section}}, and {{missing information}} that indicate that an article or section needs expansion. I understand, but we have that category to check which article we can update first. They can't be all updated by only one or two people, that's why they stay like that. However, what we can do is to update gradually thing by thing. That's the only way to make everythimg updated, at least for a while. Supeika (talk) 13:42, 15 December 2020 (UTC)

I think we should make multiple versions of the work in progress template. One with the pickaxe, one with the compass, one with the clock, one with the gear, and one with the stonecutter.--ShaughnPlays14 (talk) 17:42, 8 February 2021 (UTC)

It checks the namespace, alright (using {{NAMESPACE}}), but the category will be added for almost any namespace, except for User (talk) pages, which are namespaces number 2 and 3. Fadyblok240 (talk) 21:57, 3 March 2021 (UTC)

It seems the template is locked for editing. I'd like to suggest having the blueprint icon for the Story Mode namespace:

Categories from this template currently leave out Dungeons II, so articles like Dungeons II:Mob are sorted in the Minecraft work in progress category. 👁 Image
