Operating Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag-Au mine located 52 km south-south-east of Yalgoo.

Described as one of the most significant Archaean volcanic hosted massive sulphide deposits in Australia.

The Golden Grove mine currently consists of two operations that are 4 km apart, the Gossan Hill underground mine and the Scuddles underground mine, which both produce zinc, copper, lead, silver and gold. The Gossan Hill deposit was first discovered in 1971 and the Scuddles deposit was first discovered in 1979.

Presently (2013) owned and operated by Minerals and Metals Group, a subsidiary of China Minmetals. Discovered in 1971 as outcropping gossans by Aztec Exploration Company Pty Ltd. Amax Exploration joined in 1972 as a joint venture, then Electrolytic Zinc Company in 1973, and finally in 1977 Exxon joined the joint venture. These efforts led to the discovery of the non-outcropping Scuddles deposit in 1979. Further exploration took place in the 1980's. Normandy Poseidon purchased the leases from Australian Consolidated Minerals Pty Ltd in 1991. Poseidon conducted test mining from 1994, the a full scale mine started in 1997. Poseidon was acquired by Newmont Australia Limited in 2002. In 2005 Oxiana Limited purchased the mine, who merged with Zinifex to form Oz Minerals in 2008. When Oz Minerals hit financial difficulties, the mine was sold to China Minmetals in 2009.

The mine is within the Yalgoo Greenstone Belt. The deposits are at the north-east edge of the Warriedar Fold Belt in the Golden Grove Domain. The domain covers about 30 kilometres, and is a layered stratigraphic rhyodactic volcaniclastic succession, 550 metres thick, that underlies and hosts the VHMS Gossan Hill and Scuddles deposits. Regional deformation has resulted in an east-west compression, minor faulting, cleavage, schistosity and boudinaging of the rocks. The Golden Grove Formation shows regionally extensive quartz, Fe rich chlorite and lesser muscovite alteration. The deposits occur within a sequence dominated by felsic and intermediate sediments, lava, and associated breccias, with many later dolerite and gabbro dykes.
