While AMD Strix Halo is geared for more than just simple web browser usage, to get the laptop warmed up there were some Google Chrome and Firefox benchmarks to get started -- and after all, even mobile workstations tend to see a fair amount of browser activity.

In some of the browser benchmarks, the Ryzen AI Max PRO 390 was performing slightly ahead of the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395. Keep in mind the Ryzen AI Max PRO 390 has a 3.2GHz base clock compared to 3.0GHz base clock on the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 and these browser workloads not stressing all cores. But for most browser workloads, it was very comparable performance at the front of the race between these Strix Halo SoCs.

Very good Google Chrome and Firefox performance out of the Strix Halo SoCs even if that isn't their primary purpose given the compute power they are packing.

When moving to more demanding creator workloads, the Ryzen AI Max PRO 390 was coming right where one would expect in being just behind the flagship Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395.

With the HP ZBook Ultra G1a you can also switch over to the performance platform profile for squeezing out slightly more performance, as is the case with most modern laptops.
