For creative professionals the AMD Ryzen AI Max laptops are extremely capable for those needing top-notch performance in a portable form factor.

For those code developers frequently building code on the go or considering a Strix Halo SFF/mini PC for CI/CD type purposes, Strix Halo is great. The higher core counts do wonders for speeding up Linux kernel builds and more.

Even running the Ryzen AI Max PRO 390 in low-power mode was yielding faster compile times than Strix Point. And to no surprise, the Intel laptop competition couldn't come remotely close for build speeds.

The Ryzen AI Max PRO 390 is very capable for developers if not able to find a Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 or looking to conserve costs.

It's quite fascinating to show how far laptop CPUs have come for code compilation tasks.
