For many of the Stress-NG kernel micro-benchmarks, the default kernel was in great shape. Similarly, the CachyOS server kernel build was tending to deliver better performance too than the other CachyOS kernel versions. Meanwhile the hardened kernel configuration often carried a significant performance penalty.

The default kernel of CachyOS is in relatively great shape that is good for the masses out-of-the-box.

Meanwhile for those very security minded, you can see the significant impact that the linux-cachyos-hardened kernel has on the performance.
