Meanwhile for the FIO performance, the Linux 6.18 LTS based linux-cachyos-lts was tending to deliver the best performance across the different I/O benchmarks. The linux-cachyos-hardened kernel couldn't run these benchmarks with IO_uring being disabled in that hardened kernel configuration.
With the Microsoft Ethr network benchmark, the default kernel was in good shape. The hardened kernel configuration again was showing its substantial performance overhead at the benefit of increased security.
In some of the Ethr benchmarks, there is already quite nice improvement from last year's Linux LTS kernel to the current Linux 7.0 (and 7.1 with the -rc kernel flavor) performance.
