Surprisingly the older LTS kernel version was showing the best performance in Valkey.

In HPC workloads like OpenRadioss there wasn't much of a difference besides the hardened kernel having noticeable performance overhead.

At the end of the day, the default kernel of CachyOS is well-rounded and performing quite well. With it employing ThinLTO and AutoFDO optimizations from Clang, it's a very performant default kernel. In any event, now you know for those wondering about the performance impact of some of the different kernel flavors available on CachyOS. While linux-cachyos-hardened may be nifty for very security minded individuals, from these benchmarks you can also better quantify the performance penalties due to that kernel hardening.
