👁 Phoronix

VA-API is the Video Acceleration API that's largely developed by Intel as a means of GPU-based video encode/decode acceleration. VA-API is supported by the Intel Linux graphics driver, the Poulsbo driver, and there's a now unmaintained VA-API state tracker to Gallium3D. There is also a VDPAU back-end to VA-API for using VA-API applications with NVIDIA graphics hardware and separately the VDPAU state tracker.
