Very nice anime a shame that is this short, at least 12 episodes will be better

Great adaption, good art, etc.

Unfortunately, little to no character backstory and a rushed story makes this nearly impossible for someone who doesn't know the basic details of the game plot to understand anything.

It'd be nice if it someday gets a proper anime, like Tales of the Abyss did.

iv played this game back when it was released and i loved it i had no idea they made an anime about it till now. its a great condensed version of the story although it feels rushed but at only 4 episodes that cant be helped. i recommend this to fans of the game but others probably wont find it too spectacular.

I stumbled upon this anime because of Tales of the Abyss and I'm glad I did. This series is truly underrated. Tales of Symphonia is a trilogy, which means the sequel will have 4 more OVAs then the last set will have more OVAs. The 1st set of OVAs kinda go at a fast pace but nothing extremely rushed. The only down side of this series so far are the characters b/c they are just thrown at us with no back stories to them. However, the set up for the sequel was good. Hopefully the sequel can be as entertaining as these 4 OVAs

Just became one of my favorites. I saw the anime and now I want to play the game. This is one of those series that you could miss out on and it is a "must see" without a doubt. And yes, a second season of OVAs will be released soon as they announced them last year in 2008. I'm waiting patiently for them ... very patiently.

The most common taste disorders are: ageusia, a complete loss of the sense; hypogeusia, a decrease in its sensitivity; hypergeusia, an abnormal heightening in the sensitivity to taste; dysgeusia, a distortion of the sense; and parageusia, a long-term perception of bad taste. As people often attribute to taste what is derived from smell, taste disorders are often confused with smell disorders.unusual illness (1)A character has unusual or unlikely side-effects from an accident or suffers symptoms from ailments that could only exist within the anime.young adult (13)Someone is generally considered a young adult if they are between 20 to 40 years old.

19, female, 8.38 (21), adolescentAn adolescent (teenager) is 13 to 19 years old., assassinAn assassin is a professional murderer; it is their job or profession to be hired to kill people. When events like one-off murders appear, they should be tagged on anime level. Only professional killers will be tagged with assassin tag. Assassins are often hireable to take out hits (or targets) designated by a client (or temporary employer) for a predetermined fee. Not all assassins work solo and may have a partner or even a team of more than two members., bodysuitA bodysuit is a one-piece outfit that fits the body tightly. The most famous anime bodysuits are doubtlessly the Evangelion plugsuits. Space suits are not bodysuits, because they are not tight, but one-piece wetsuits or swimwear are. They do not have to cover the legs, as bodysuits do not need to cover the entire body. They are not to be confused with an entirely different piece of clothing that covers the torso and crotch and which is also named bodysuit, but is an undergarment, not an outfit., cardsno description set, cleavageA cleavage is the partial, or sometimes full, exposure of the separation between a woman`s breasts., humanModern humans are the only extant members of the subtribe Hominina. Together with chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans, they are part of the family Hominidae. Terrestrial animals, humans are characterized by their erect posture and bipedal locomotion; high manual dexterity and heavy tool use compared to other animals; open-ended and complex language use compared to other animal communications; larger, more complex brains than other animals; and highly advanced and organized societies., large breastsLarge breasts are breasts a fair notch larger than average, as found in some real life adolescent girls or fully grown women. They are bigger than medium breasts and smaller than huge breasts. Note: This tag has many anime/character entries that need to be moved to the new medium and huge breasts tags. Please add the appropriate tag and remove this one from the corresponding anime/character afterwards., obiObi is a sash for traditional Japanese dresses, keikogi worn for Japanese martial arts, and a part of kimono outfits.

animal clawsno description set, animal ears -- TO BE SPLIT AND DELETEDThis tag is set to be removed. Please retag the characters to whether the ears are real (a part of the character`s body) or an accessory and according to the animal they are drawn from. Examples of existing tags that should be applied include: "real cat ears", "real dog ears", and "cat ears accessory". Once the character is retagged, please remove this tag from them. Thank you., fangsFangs are multiple prominent canine teeth, usually in one or two pairs; they are often found in vampires or various animals, and they serve purposes such as drawing blood or ripping flesh. They are distinct from and should not be confused with a cuteness fang, a single prominent canine tooth that suggests a cat-like and energetic nature or a state of excitement, or misaligned teeth, which are a facial misfeature with no actual purpose., fire magicMagical application of the fire element. Usually strong against living beings, such as plants and animals, but easily fought by employing water. Also usually entails immunity against heat., magicMagic is the art of purportedly manipulating aspects of reality either by supernatural means or through knowledge of unknown occult laws., monsterno description set, real hornsAny size and number of bone appendices, appearing at the top of the character`s head (or other similar body part when applicable). Does not include fake horns., tailThe tail is the section at the rear end of an animal`s body; in general, the term refers to a distinct, flexible appendage to the torso. It is the part of the body that corresponds roughly to the sacrum and coccyx in mammals, reptiles, and birds. Please see the full tag description for usage instructions for this tag.

episode appearance appears in ep: 4
male, afroAn Afro is a hairstyle worn naturally by people with lengthy kinky hair texture or specifically styled in such a fashion by individuals with naturally curly or straight hair. The hairstyle is created by combing the hair away from the scalp, allowing the hair to extend out from the head in a large, rounded shape, much like a cloud or ball., beardA beard is the collection of hair that grows on the chin, upper lip, cheeks, and neck of human beings., bib-and-brace overallsBib-and-brace overalls are loose, sturdy trousers, with a bib or biblike piece to which shoulder straps are attached to hold them up. Originally worn over other trousers to protect them, as by factory workers or farmers, overalls are now often used as standalone legwear. In US English the term overall is used. Some people call an overall a "pair of overalls" by analogy with "pair of trousers"., brown hairThe character has brown hair., humanModern humans are the only extant members of the subtribe Hominina. Together with chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans, they are part of the family Hominidae. Terrestrial animals, humans are characterized by their erect posture and bipedal locomotion; high manual dexterity and heavy tool use compared to other animals; open-ended and complex language use compared to other animal communications; larger, more complex brains than other animals; and highly advanced and organized societies., middle agedSomeone is generally considered middle aged if they are between 40 to 65 years old., short hairShort hair is hair from (but not including) bald, up to (but not including) shoulder-length hair. This hair length is what one would typically, though not always, see on most males. Short hair includes hair that goes no more than a centimetre or two beyond the chin; anything longer is shoulder-length., sunglassesA form of protective eye-wear designed primarily to prevent bright sunlight from damaging or discomforting the eyes. Also used as a fashion detail. For practical tagging purposes, sunglasses should not be considered glasses; apply only the "sunglasses" tag for sunglasses, not both. However, a character who wears prescription glasses with dark lenses or who wears both eyewear types should take both tags.
voiced by: Yasumoto Hiroki
episode appearance appears in ep: 4, S2
28, female, 7.05 (12), axeThe axe, or ax, is an implement that has been used for millennia to shape, split and cut wood; to harvest timber; as a weapon; and as a ceremonial or heraldic symbol. A battle axe is an axe specifically designed for combat. Battle axes were specialized versions of utility axes. Many were suitable for use in one hand, while others were larger and were deployed two-handed., blue eyesThis character has blue-colored eyes., emotionally stuntedAn emotionally stunted person has a crippled ability to feel or express emotions. That may range from a somewhat decreased ability to express one`s feelings to not having emotions at all. The kuudere archetype draws heavily from this characteristic. This personality trait may be a symptom of a medical condition such as autism or post-traumatic stress disorder. This is not to be confused with a deadpan person, who deliberately suppresses the expression of their emotions., exsphereExspheres are parasitic gems that increase the wearer`s power, fighting skill and magic ability, from the anime Tales of Symphonia. They are produced by sacrificing human lives., fingerless glovesFingerless gloves or "glovelettes" are garments worn on the hands which resemble regular gloves in most ways, except that the finger columns are half-length and opened, allowing the top-half of the wearer`s fingers to be shown. This provides much of the warmth retention without negatively impacting dexterity., glovesA glove is a garment covering the whole hand., humanModern humans are the only extant members of the subtribe Hominina. Together with chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans, they are part of the family Hominidae. Terrestrial animals, humans are characterized by their erect posture and bipedal locomotion; high manual dexterity and heavy tool use compared to other animals; open-ended and complex language use compared to other animal communications; larger, more complex brains than other animals; and highly advanced and organized societies., young adultSomeone is generally considered a young adult if they are between 20 to 40 years old.
episode appearance appears in ep: 4, S2
33, male, ascot tieAn ascot tie, or ascot, is a narrow neckband with wide pointed wings. This wide, formal tie is usually patterned, folded over, and fastened with a stickpin or tie clip. A cravat is a scarf or band of fabric worn around the neck as a tie which spreads over the chest. The visible part is often made of lace and/or ruffles., blue hairThe character has blue hair., exsphereExspheres are parasitic gems that increase the wearer`s power, fighting skill and magic ability, from the anime Tales of Symphonia. They are produced by sacrificing human lives., greaveA greave is a piece of armour that protects the leg., hair bangsHair bangs are a shaped cutting of the front part of the hair so it lies over the forehead. Bangs are usually cut fairly straight - at or above the eyebrows, but can also be curled, ragged/ruffled, spiked up with hair gel, mousse or wax, swept aside, or cut longer to fall over the eyes., handcuffsHandcuffs are restraint devices designed to secure an individual`s wrists close together., healingHealing is the power to restore biotic organisms to their optimal health., humanModern humans are the only extant members of the subtribe Hominina. Together with chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans, they are part of the family Hominidae. Terrestrial animals, humans are characterized by their erect posture and bipedal locomotion; high manual dexterity and heavy tool use compared to other animals; open-ended and complex language use compared to other animal communications; larger, more complex brains than other animals; and highly advanced and organized societies.
episode appearance appears in ep: 4
male, bob cutA bob cut or bob is a short haircut for women (and occasionally men) in which the hair is typically cut straight around the head at about jaw-level, often with a fringe/bangs at the front. The bob is cut at the level of ears, below the ears, or above shoulders. If the sidelocks are distinct, it is possibly a hime cut., brown eyesThe character has brown eyes., brown hairThe character has brown hair., cloakA cloak is a sleeveless loose garment, sometimes with a hood, that is worn over indoor clothing and serves the same purpose as an overcoat; it protects the wearer from the weather, or it may form part of a fashionable outfit or uniform. In contrast to a cape, a cloak provides more frontal cover whereas a cape leaves the front fairly open. A cape or cloak with sleeves is a robe., hair bangsHair bangs are a shaped cutting of the front part of the hair so it lies over the forehead. Bangs are usually cut fairly straight - at or above the eyebrows, but can also be curled, ragged/ruffled, spiked up with hair gel, mousse or wax, swept aside, or cut longer to fall over the eyes., humanModern humans are the only extant members of the subtribe Hominina. Together with chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans, they are part of the family Hominidae. Terrestrial animals, humans are characterized by their erect posture and bipedal locomotion; high manual dexterity and heavy tool use compared to other animals; open-ended and complex language use compared to other animal communications; larger, more complex brains than other animals; and highly advanced and organized societies., shoulder-length hairShoulder-length hair is hair at shoulder length, within a few centimetres margin. This hair length is longer than what one would typically, though not always, see on most males. Short hair includes hair that goes no more than a centimetre or two beyond the chin; anything longer is shoulder-length. Typical male hair at the back of the head which reaches the shoulders does not count as shoulder-length hair; the individual hair strands are very short (0-4 cm), and therefore count as short hair., zucchettoA small skullcap worn by clerics of the Roman Catholic Church and within Anglicanism and Lutheranism.
