Ukrainian startups and small and medium-sized enterprises to receive EUR 20 mln from EU
The European Commission (EC) has announced increased support for Ukrainian innovators in the high-tech sector.
βThe European Commission has awarded EUR 20 million in funding to 41 cutting-edge Ukrainian start-ups and SMEs following a European Innovation Council (EIC) call to help them turn groundbreaking ideas into real-world solutions,β this is said in the EC communiquΓ© published on Wednesday.
βThis funding will help integrate the Ukrainian start-ups into the European innovation ecosystem, strengthening Ukraineβs long-term economic alignment with the EU,β Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation, Ekaterina Zaharieva noted.
The communiquΓ© states that each company will receive between EUR 300,000 and EUR 500,000, as well as accelerated access to the EICβs flagship funding programme, the EIC Accelerator, which offers larger grants and equity investments through the EIC Fund.
