Law enforcement officers have notified the deputy head of the Communal Enterprise Road Maintenance Administration (SHU) of Desniansky District of suspicion regarding an overpayment of more than UAH 1.2 million in the procurement of road fencing, the Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office press service reported.

"Under the procedural guidance of the Desniansky District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv, the deputy head of CP ‘SHU of Desniansky District’ was notified of suspicion of official negligence," the prosecutor’s office stated on its Telegram channel on Monday.

The pretrial investigation established that in July 2024, the communal enterprise and a contracting organization concluded an agreement for the procurement of barrier-type road fencing. However, the suspect, who initiated and was responsible for the procurement, failed to analyze publicly available information on the prices for such fencing, which led to its purchase at inflated prices.

According to the expert’s conclusion, the enterprise overpaid more than UAH 1.2 million for the purchased goods, causing losses to the capital’s budget in this amount.

The suspect’s actions are qualified under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
