A warden is a powerful mini-boss battled in the Deep Dark. It can burrow through the ground, unleash sonic booms, and slam its fists.

Spawning

[edit | edit source]

A warden guards the entrance to the ancient city within the Deep Dark location. Additional wardens have a rare chance of spawning in other parts of the Deep Dark during an ambush.

Behavior

[edit | edit source]

Wardens spawn by burrowing out of the ground. They are extremely slow enemies that swing at nearby heroes when in melee range, dealing heavy damage. Every few seconds, the warden chooses a random target to focus its attacks on, ignoring other heroes who attack it.

Sonic boom

[edit | edit source]

Between every few attacks, the warden unleashes an area of effect boom that damages all nearby heroes and applies a negative status. Afterwards, it stands still for a few short moments, leaving it open to attack.

Burrowing

[edit | edit source]

If a warden is too far from a hero, it burrows into the ground. After a short moment, it re-emerges under the hero.

Stunning

[edit | edit source]

When taking too much damage during its sonic boom, the warden staggers and falls over for three seconds.
