Strong support for this, being implemented: Is present in infoboxes, footnote in lead, and as a section of Languages.  Nixinova  T ⁄ C  08:53, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

Following a comment on Talk:Baked Potato#, I realise that this wiki is doing a poor job of showing non-American English names of features. We should endeavour to include all the English names of the feature in articles to avoid any confusion. For example, "A baked potato (jacket potato in British English) ..." (or at least in a footnote). This is the English wiki, not American English wiki.  Nixinova  T ⁄ C  11:07, 27 September 2025 (UTC)

Strong support. Many Minecraft Wikis do that and nothing wrong happened. 👁 Image

The FR, PT, and UK wikis each have a dedicated page that document all dialectal differences and include alternative names in infoboxes (e.g. fr:Bleuet). This is all managed through a script, with support for both JE and BE translations. A similar thing could be done on EN for Australian, Canadian, British, New Zealand, and Anglish variants (potentially even Pirate and Early Modern).
(Pinging @Patcho as he's the one who set up this on all 3 wikis and regularly run his bot to update the list.) - Zamburger (talk) 12:03, 27 September 2025 (UTC)

How does having a dedicated page documenting the different languages akin to the FR, PT, and UK ones I linked confusing to readers? How is including other names in the infobox confusing? - Zamburger (talk) 17:35, 29 September 2025 (UTC)

Support, this would clarify loads of things for our readers. Else, readers might think they're at the wrong article after searching the alternate names. -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  14:11, 27 September 2025 (UTC)

Support for official dialects of English where the names differ. Names in the more jocular variants as well as Anglish might probably be kept in the trivia. — BabylonAS 17:45, 29 September 2025 (UTC)

Oppose for joke languages/conlangs (pirate, Shakespearean, Anglish, lolcat, upside-down). I'd personally prefer if they were kept in a note instead of prose, especially if there's more than one alternative name - while these "translations" do appear in-game, they are crowd-sourced and the developers have no input on them, they are undeniably not at the same level of "officialness" as the US English names.--Capopanzo (talk | contribs) 16:36, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
