Forum:Style guide expansion

With the movie looming, I think it's time that we start to work on preparing for the franchise's expansion. This has always been a wiki for the overall franchise, but story content has generally taken a backseat. Even without the movie itself, there's a pretty huge amount of content to cover, namely from books or future games. Problem is, there isn't much to really regulate how pages on those should look.

I mostly write for expanded universe content myself, so I personally have a good feel for how they should work by now, but new writers probably won't. A lot of them tend to run off assumptions, like using {{Infobox entity}} instead of {{Infobox character}}. As such, I propose that we expand the style guide to feature new subpages for specific subjects. That’s a good idea, already talked about this earlier but the Dungeons namespace has a lot of odd deviations from the rest of the site. Like putting quotes at the top instead of in a dedicated section. I think even Legends mostly does that method by now, yet when I tried moving them a Dungeons editor called it vandalism. True. Also in the forum topic I made about improving the MCL namespace, I did mention a style guide for it. So, I think there should be a separate style guide for each namespace and then a general style guide that details everything that applies to all namespaces (e.g. linking guidelines). -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  14:49, 17 March 2025 (UTC)

Just a few days ago I tried adding a sound table for Steve. It definitely shouldn't go the same place as game pages, but putting it above the gallery doesn't feel right. Realshow19 (talk) 21:38, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

 Support, we cover many story content already, since a movie is coming out I think now is a good time to have a guide for this. Prior to this proposal, many articles in Story Mode namespace treats everything as game elements, ignoring the the story aspects which is mainly the point of the subjects especially when the game is mostly about making decisions for the story. Having a guide to prevent this would be great. 👁 Image
