The redstone heart is a special power source created by the Old Builders. It was used as a power source for PAMA until Jesse took it off in Access Denied.
In Access Denied, Jesse entered PAMA's interior with the mission of removing the redstone heart in order to disable PAMA. After successfully doing so, they use the redstone heart in the portal hallway to reveal a secret staircase that was behind a wall.
In A Journey's End?, Jesse can choose to show the redstone heart to Hadrian, who will reveal that it used to be in possession of the Old Builders. In the last game of the Builder Games, Jesse is killed by Mevia, dropping their inventory along with the redstone heart. They later manage to retrieve it upon Hadrian's death, and the redstone heart gets displayed in the Order Hall.
The redstone heart is a powerful energy source that can be used to power anything similar to a battery. For many years, it was the sole power source of PAMA.
