The data in igloo_bottom.nbt specifies Profession 2 for the villager and VillagerProfession 2 for the zombie. The NBT also specifies trades of 36 rotten flesh for 1 emerald and 9 gold for 1 emerald. Anomie x (talk) 05:02, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
Open question: are there chests without a golden apple? And if so, is there some other loot taking up the center spot? Or can it be just blank there? – Sealbudsmantalk/contr00:16, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
It looks like the golden apple is rather buggy. The chest when generated from igloo_bottom.nbt has a golden apple in the center, and then the code applies the loot table to it. If you open it now, and you're lucky that slot 13 doesn't get overwritten, you'd probably get the golden apple.
But when the chest is saved or loaded the game sees the LootTable tag and doesn't save the Items tag, and if it's loading from NBT it won't bother to load the Items tag if there's a LootTable tag. I also cannot seem to create a chest in the state necessary to get the apple, as both /setblock and /blockdata seem to involve a save-and-load and therefore lose the Items tag. Yep, in that snapshot, they changed the way the golden apple was being put into the chest: they made so the chest generates loot when chest is opened, then on top of that, it generates a gold apple in a random spot. Before, the apple was put in the central spot at worldgen, which was subject to disappearing if the chunk was ever unloaded before the player got there (i think?), and was also subject to being overwrote by the random loot when the chest was open.

I know igloos are rare to find, so here's how to get to one easy: Make a new world, superflat, seed -1715419777138443287, preset 3;minecraft:bedrock,62*minecraft:dirt,minecraft:snow_layer;12;biome_1. EDIT: Oops, forgot to include coords X=2301 Z=2156. AwesomeMan31415926 (profile|contribs) 02:36, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

I'm convinced the symbols on the new sign is a hidden code for something.
××××- ×××--
--×× ×-×
×-×× -××
--××× ×××--
The asterisks don't form any letters that may be used as an acronym, nor do they look like a symbol. Interpreting them as 'short' and the hyphens as 'long' using the Morse code leaves you with 43 ZR LD 73 (or 43ZRLD73), a quick search on imgur did not result in anything though, even by going through all possible capitalizations of the letters. Didn't check for different ways of reading, such as top to bottom. Is anyone experienced in decoding Mojang hints here? Deksic (talk) 01:30, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
We are a wiki, and as a wiki the talk pages should only discuss the article, not discussing solving clues (as any solution is speculation without confirmation). I suggest you take this to the [[forum:|forums]] or the Minecraft subreddit (the subreddit has a thread discussing this already) –KnightMinert/c04:14, 26 October 2015 (UTC)

I can find it in 1.0.7, and it is a librarian zombie villager and a farmer villager in the igloo. Maybe this is a feature in the recent PE editions.----Lxazl5770 (talk) 13:11, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
hm, I'm running the Android beta, and there's no igloo at those coords, but at 67 25 173 is a basement with non-priest villager and zombie. Nice find! Also the bed in that one is orange ... So I guess they're ... Randomly colored now maybe? – Sealbudsmantalk/contr14:08, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
Ooh, what you've found was amazing...maybe the beta versions have reseted the generation of the igloos, and the random color must be a bug or an awesone version exclusive...anyway, thanks you so much for your time!----Lxazl5770 (talk) 14:28, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

Is the cauldron in the basement filled with water in JE and Weakness potion in BE? If so, then add JE and BE only for the cauldron?

Should we add some things, maybe in the tutorial page instead of this one, that the 'Mojang Intended' way of finding the basement is when the player smelts an item, then the ice melts, washing away the carpet, showing the trapdoor? Of course now most players just dig the carpet. 221.126.252.14601:56, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

For some reason whenever I go to an igloo and go into the basement there's no arrows on the sign. Is this a MCPE/bedrock exclusive or a glitch? Is it seed exclusive or on all versions? Help please 108.30.93.3421:24, 26 March 2025 (UTC)
Huh. Thanks for telling me, i once saw a really cool house fused with an igloo in a world and the basement had no arrows on the sign. Hope it gets patched, the arrows were one of the defining features of the basement for me 108.30.93.3421:07, 27 March 2025 (UTC)

The world generation map blocks scrolling the page when mouse is on it. Please make it only zoom the map when ctrl is held and otherwise scroll the page.
This feature is provided by Chunkbase. On that site scrolling when focus results in zooming the map. So wiki cannot change it at all. Hxy123abc (talk) 01:07, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
