[edit source]
Latest comment: 9 January 20251 comment1 person in discussion

As the demand for Minecraft Storymode stuff increases you guys would need to add Reuben and other Mc storymoode facts related to pigs into the article. Im not doing it my self because i am obliviously bad at typing. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.116.3.47 (talk). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

This page is about MINECRAFT information, not Minecraft: Story Mode information. I say no.Mineifications (talk) 19:32, 9 January 2025 (UTC)

Frost Walker verification needed

[edit source]
Latest comment: 1 April 20201 comment1 person in discussion

The article states that the Frost Walker enchantment works while riding pigs. I just tried that on Bedrock Edition, and had to find that it does not work. That little factoid needs specific version info and verification.Estharon (talk) 11:12, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

Pig Conversion by Lightening -

[edit source]
Latest comment: 27 October 20221 comment1 person in discussion
Event: Today I went to charge some creepers (1.19.2) and when I hit the target pig using a trident with channeling.. I got the full lightening hit, charging the creepers nearby. HOWEVER.. what was left wasn't a dead pig but a full Zombie Piglin in place of the pig.

Conditions: Pig in a 9x9 area 1 block below the surface surrounded by fenced area leaving the pig in a 1x1 area. Creepers in 1x1 holes 3 blocks deep with a glass block at ground level. 1 on each side of the pig (left and right as viewed from the throwing platform) 1 block away (just outside the fense) from the pig. Creepers both had name tag "Blaster" applied. Trident was thrown from an elevated position 10 blocks away (front) and 6 blocks above ground level to give me a clear shot at the pig. Throwing platform was the south of the pig and the strike was made looking north

Did you read the article? If a pig is struck by lightning, it will become a zombified piglin unless your difficulty is set to Peaceful where the pig will take damage. Another thing that you might not know is if a villager gets struck by lightning, it will become a witch. Minermatt122514 (talk) 21:44, 27 October 2022 (UTC)

How fast do pigs actually go when saddled and using carrot on a stick?

[edit source]
Latest comment: 26 April 20232 comments1 person in discussion

It says on the pig page 5.2 blocks per second. But on Transportation it says 4.19 blocks per second. So which is it? Thetoiletslayer (talk) 18:51, 24 April 2023 (UTC)

Edit: Also according to multiple speed testing setups pigs are traveling at a little over 2 blocks per second(in bedrock at least, I didnt test in java)

Pigs drop two saddles in Bedrock MCPE-217925 Ahmad2304 (talk) 11:06, 27 April 2025 (UTC)

I just tested this in Bedrock, killing a Saddled Pig with Swords, Spears, Axes, Fists, Bows, Crossbows, Magma, Lava, Fire, Powdered Snow, Fall Damage, Suffocation, Mob Cramming, Drowning, and even a Vindicator named Johnny did not in fact cause the pig to drop two saddles.
However, when killed with Fire & Lava the saddle was lost due to it burning. ~2026-ZoglinVexDolphin6158 (talk) 15:19, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Maybe they fixed it already Ahmad2304 (talk) 06:26, 1 April 2026 (UTC)

Baby growth disparity from Bedrock Edition

[edit source]
Latest comment: 13 July 20251 comment1 person in discussion

Baby mobs in bedrock edition follow this rule when fed: Feeding them adds 10% of the total amount of time it takes for the entity to grow into an adult to their current age. ForestOfLight (talk) 10:19, 13 July 2025 (UTC)

Baby specific names

[edit source]
Latest comment: 8 March7 comments5 people in discussion

As with other mobs such as the sniffer, which has its baby being a snifflet, I've changed this and all other pages which have had new baby mobs mentioned in the Minecraft snapshot reveal video. This seems to be the new official names developers are going with. I have not given unique names to baby rabbits, chickens and others as those are still mentioned as "baby X". One person has been going around turning some of them back and asking for discussions (as well as weirdly enough changing some of them such as "pup" to the incorrect "puppy") so I thought I'd open it here since it seems to be the most edited page in this regard. Anyone for or against keeping the new names please post their opinions. I've reverted this page back to the new names in the meantime to match the other mobs. Feranogame (talk) 20:35, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

It seems most of them were reverted already. Midway through I realized this but went in and changed them to the new ones anyways since people kept changing them back in some pages. My mistake. Nevertheless, the point still stands. It was mentioned that "Baby X" is the in-game name but that is just not the case? There's no in-game name. As I mentioned before, snifflets have been using the specific name basically ever since they were introduced. Feranogame (talk) 20:47, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
In the case of pigs, "Baby Pig" is the direct in-game name per the new baby pig subtitles. For the rest, this is a rule that has been settled on for at least a year, and this will not be changed unless Mojang continues to use these names. 👁 Image

Turns out the reason for a lot of the confusion is that it isn't consistent across different subtitle languages; the English (US) subtitles in game (the default one) has the baby pig called 'Baby Pig', while the English (United Kingdom) subtitles which I use as a British player do call the baby pig 'Piglet'.
I hope they change it for the US because it isn't consistent as the other baby animals with new sounds do have their correct names in both versions; baby chickens are chicks, baby cats are kittens, baby wolves are puppies (strangely not 'pups' but whatever), and baby horses are foals. Yet baby pigs, in the US version, are still 'baby pigs'.
But for now I guess it makes sense if the wiki uses 'baby pig', as English (US) is clearly the default language, as seen in the files. WorthySoul (talk) 22:00, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
Yeah, our style guide explicitly prefers English (US) and American English. This inconsistency is quite confusing. ‑‑MinecraftExp123(talk|contribs) 23:36, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Why the baby pig share the same hurt sound with the piggy bank from minecraft dungeons???

--FeedbackBot 23:23, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
Maybe because they're both pigs.

Big and mini sounds?

Latest comment: 22 May1 comment1 person in discussion

For some reason, there are 2 variants of sounds: The big one, and the mini one. Is there a reason? IronSculkJungle7643 (talk) 12:18, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
