Might become an actual page???--Lol -PJronq 18:08, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

I'd say so - Bulbapedia, for example, has a page on it despite it technically not being part of the PokΓ©mon franchise either. - User-12316399 (talk) 18:15, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
I'd say πŸ‘ Image
no, we don't document references to/appearances of Minecraft in other games either, why should this be an exception?
FYI, Bulbapedia doing it is not a strong argument, we have different wiki rules, style guide, etc. Dhranios (talk) 18:40, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
Because they're exactly that: references. SSB is a different case, since as far as I can see this is a completely official collaboration involving the Minecraft team to some extent, as opposed to a nod some unrelated game developer added since they were a fan. - User-12316399 (talk) 19:22, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
While it is different, it's also not at all Minecraft gameplay, or a product with Minecraft in the name. Your argument is basically also saying to document horses are they are in the Mo Creatures mod on this wiki, as the Mojang was involved in the process of horses, and they were basically copied from that mod. Same with pistons and anything else takes from a mod or other game. Dhranios (talk) 19:29, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

Strong oppose, the thing is, there is such thing as a super smash bros wiki so why document here? this is Minecraft Wiki---Humiebee Discuss anything with me Look at my edits 19:25, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
I feel like this is unlikely, but it's fine for everyone's opinions on this.---PJronq 19:55, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
I think we should definitely document the move sets etc of Steve etc in Smash, and that would probably best be placed on this page instead of e.g. Player.  Nixinova β€Šβ€‰T β€Š C   20:33, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

Still disagree, it's just steve, and minecraft-related moves and steve is just the default character, it's not like it should be talked about in this page imo.---Humiebee Discuss anything with me Look at my edits 01:16, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
It's not just Steve, its Alex, zombie, enderman + Minecraft stages.  Nixinova β€Šβ€‰T β€Š C   02:05, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

Strong Support. The argument against it seems to be that this is the "Minecraft Wiki", but this is very heavily related to Minecraft and is official, so why not cover it? Given the scale of this announcement, I also suspect we'll have a lot of non-editors and such that are expecting us to cover it. Again, it is related to Minecraft, so why not? Other wikis don't tend to have an issue with covering their Smash representation either. I know that alone isn't an argument, but it both provides precedent that Smash is related to the game enough to be covered and creates an expectation among the average Smash player. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 22:49, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
πŸ‘ Image
Support for covering this, mainly per PancakeIdentity, but, whatever happens, remove all references to Smash stuff that are in pages like Player, as it would almost only make the pages more confusing. Sagessylu (discuss | edits) 12:34, 23 October 2020 (UTC)

Support. Most wikis about 3rd party Universes with fighters such as Sonic News Network, The Castlevania Wiki, Final Fantasy Wiki, and even The Banjo-Kazooie Wiki and SNK Wiki (covering Fatal Fury and KOF info) have page For Super Smash Bros. Minecraft wiki currently is one of only 2 wikis not so(the another is Megami Tensei Wiki covering Persona5 stuff). so why not start one? --Clayblockunova (talk) 06:32, 16 October 2020 (UTC)

Strong Support per PancakeIdentity and Nixinova. We obviously are not going to document everything about Smash, but in my opinion we should definitely document everything Minecraft related in any official game on this wiki. β€” Thomanski | t | c | 08:59, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
πŸ‘ Image
Strong Support documenting something about this, but only in one page, like a third-party program. There's a Super Smash Bros. Wiki on Fandom, IMO information about gameplay should only be there. --Dr03ramos (talk) 14:09, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
πŸ‘ Image
Strong Support making this an actual page. A page called "Minecraft (Super Smash Bros Ultimate content)" which would work to contain player moveset, stages and music if gets approved. Supeika (talk) 14:19, 16 October 2020 (UTC)

Adding Other Crossovers

[edit source]
Latest comment: 19 December 20202 comments1 person in discussion

I understand why some would not be added like just references (for example, when Minecraft is referenced in TV shows.) but it make sense to have it for when Steve or Minecraft level is in a game. I’d love to work on making them pages. We wouldn’t just official nodes but actual crossovers instead like Super Meat Boy. RobbyB3ll4s (talk) 17:47, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Convert to soft redirect

[edit source]
Latest comment: 5 March 20215 comments4 people in discussion

I am proposing that this page become a soft redirect to this page because there is absolutely no need for a third-party game to have its own page when a wiki dedicated to said game has the same information on it as this one. I am aware of the above discussion regarding content proposal; however that was months ago and should not be considered in regards to opposition. BDJP (t|c) 08:43, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

"however that was months ago and should not be considered in regards to opposition" This is very much not true... The majority of the people supported adding the content to this wiki, rather than keeping the page a redirect. If the discussion was years old, yes, months, no, it was less than half a year ago.
This request is literally going directly against prior consensus within the last year... That is already enough to say that the entire request is denied. Dhranios (talk) (Join the wiki videos project!) 09:32, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
Doesn’t mean people can change their minds. BDJP (t|c) 15:29, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
I have to agree with Dhranios, there was a clear, solid consensus with like 6 people. Even I now support this page.Humiebeetalk contribs 20:17, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Crossovers page?

[edit source]
Latest comment: 1 February 20212 comments2 people in discussion

As per people like Nixinova and User-12316399's desire to document this topic on the Wiki, and RobbyB3ll4s's request to document other crossovers, I'm curious if a Crossovers page might be more like what would make sense for the Wiki. A single page with a section header for each game (the contents of this page minus the preamble would be under a ## Super Smash Brothers Ultimate heading), a history log for when Minecraft content was added to games something like

{{History||October 13, 2020|The Minecraft DLC for ''Super Smash Brothers Ultimate'' was released.|slink=none}}

, and external links to those game's Wikis. I think that would be much tighter, allow for more games to be referenced without the creation of a ton of pages (someone had mentioned there's a Minecraft reference in Super Meat Boy?), and be more consistent with what the users of the Wiki might expect, as well as on top of all of that be a fun read for people interested in other places Minecraft has shown up in gaming. DigiDuncan (talk) 01:16, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

I don't call references crossovers. Smash is the only game so far to actually be a cross over, and seeing how much info is already on the page (could be more, like effects and stats of spitits, the spirit battles, the classic mode battles, etc.) a page whith all crossovers dumped together with this amount of info would just be messy. Sightly reworking to finally look appropriate for MCW

[edit source]
Latest comment: 20 October 20241 comment1 person in discussion

This article was always purely about the Minecraft-SSBU collab content, except under a cover of just SSBU since people stuck to the original name from when it was just a redirect. Because of that, it doesn't really look right on the wiki as it is, since it puts SSBU, as a game, the first topic instead-even though there is only a tiny bit about the essentials of the game in the intro. As this is about a collaboration with a game that already has two centralized wiki articles about it, there's no need to expand this article into other SSBU aspects.

Even though what people have said on this talk page, IMO, this article could perfectly work as it is now if it put the collaboration and the content included with it as the first topic instead, which makes the article look better as it is clearly related to the Minecraft universe.

So, this page would need a slight rework, including a rename, a rewrite of the top section to describe the collaboration, with a link to an article about SSBU from either SmashWiki or Wikipedia (up to be decided), and other appropriate tweaks; other parts are alright. This post is a bit rushed due to a lack of time, sadly. Colafloat6 (talk) 09:19, 20 October 2024 (UTC)

Move to Minecraft x Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

[edit source]
Latest comment: 2 April 20254 comments4 people in discussion

This page says nothing about the game itself - only about its collaborations with Minecraft, so the title is misleading. Arina (she/her) 09:11, 2 April 2025 (UTC)

I πŸ‘ Image
Oppose, this page is about the Minecraft aspects of Smash Bros. Ultimate itself, while Minecraft x Super Smash Bros. Ultimate indicates an external crossover event that isn’t part of the game itself β€” πŸ‘ Image

Unresolved

I think adding info on the spirit battles like what you have to fight, what class the spirit is (Shield, Grab, Attack, Neutral), music, stage, and changes made to the fight if DLC costumes are owned (Creeper is Mr. Game & Watch if the Creeper DLC isn't owned and is Mii Brawler if it is, Piglin is Alex if the Pig DLC isn't owned and Mii Brawler if it is)

Who put that Makena thing in the Trivia?

[edit source]
Latest comment: 20 March3 comments2 people in discussion

It sound a bit strange cuz Makena was announced AFTER the release of Minecraft content in Smash... Could anyone explain me who Chiwi is and what was going on in general?

Thx in advance ~2026-DioriteMeadowCherry6358 (talk) 23:19, 19 March 2026 (UTC)

Chiwi is an artist at Mojang and some time ago they tweeted that screenshot. Steve's texture in Smash uses the same format as Minecraft skins so it's very easy to change using mods. I'm removing this as it's not particularly relevant and lacks context anyway. --Capopanzo (talk | contribs) 23:32, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
