Patroller right?

[edit source]
Latest comment: 26 September 20232 comments2 people in discussion

Would you be interested in getting the patroller right? I can't add it myself but have suggested you for the role multiple times; it doesn't really carry any extra responsibilities, but adds a rollback function, allows you mark edits as patrolled and see which edits have already been marked by other patrollers and admins. –Sonicwave talk 22:41, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Don't see why not. The user rights it gives could definitely prove useful – JEC talk @ 22:55, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

A question regarding disputes!

[edit source]
Latest comment: 6 February 20252 comments2 people in discussion

(STILL couldn't think of a good alliteration for this one. Sorry!)

Hello! I hope your day is well. I've been involved in a bit of an editing dispute recently, and unfortunately, a conclusion was not reached via regular discussion on the talk page. I'd like to ask if there's an official, professional route to take regarding editing disputes, that aims to have them cleanly resolved after the "discuss amongst yourselves" stage? Thank you, and have a good day! :D TheOneWhoAteTheCookies (talk) 04:57, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

This wiki currently doesn't have an official, formal process for resolving edit wars. Looking at the dispute you're involved in, I think your best bet would be to create a new topic on Talk:Minecraft Store and explain the situation there. That way, you can gather more opinions than just yours and Realshow's and a consensus may be reached on the matter. Hope that helps – FireX @ 16:29, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

Hello. Just letting you know, the way you're allowing new topics into the style table causes a few lint errors ("Missing end tag"), so, uh, I'm just letting you know of this, though I don't know exactly of any potential solutions. Hope you have a good day, -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  00:18, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

I've known for a while that the talk page styling here creates lint errors. Since I too am not aware of any workarounds and, afaik, the missing end tags don't result in display issues for anyone, I don't see any need to attempt to fix that at this time – FireX @ 00:45, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
I see. By the way, I noticed that there are a bit of an issue about replying on mobile (this comment isn't using DiscussionTools). I request you to do one thing, and don't worry, it's as easy as opening doors.

So although I'm not into this wiki two much, but I've noticed that you granted the autopatrol right to various users. So my request is simple: Do NOT give me the autopatrol right, no matter what. Yeah that's all I wanted to say. 👁 Image
Brain180, "click here to talk" 15:30, 1 July 2025 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) maybe just say on your user page that you "DO NOT" want autopatrol? Other admins might not see this, but they'd probably see your page. -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  15:54, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
I'll keep that in mind. May I ask why autopatrol is not something you want? – FireX @ 22:23, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
Hey, I just remembered that I need to respond to your message, so sorry for the late response LOL!
Anyways, the reason why I don't want to bee an autopatrol is because I just feel like I don't fit to this wiki at all. You see, I spend a lot of the time editing Fandom wikis (because I don't hate Fandom at all), other times of the day I watch YouTube (which btw, most of the contents I watch on YouTube don't even related to Minecraft) and/or play Minecraft and sometimes other games. And yeah as you can see, not only do I not have time to edit a lot on this wiki, but I also often forget that this wiki exists.
And even if I somehow have time and remember this wiki's existence, I often have a hard time finding an article to edit on (because almost all articles on this wiki have little to no mistakes, i.e pretty much perfect). This further reduces the amount of edits I could have make on this wiki. Furthermore, I feel like that almost nobody on this wiki actually cares about me at all. All of the above make my editing interest to this wiki slowly decreases. So yeah, that's why I don't want to be an autopatrol on this wiki because editing this wiki is not even in my top 3 priority anyways, and also think about it, what's the point of having an autopatrol right on the wiki that you're not interested on?
Now don't get me wrong, I like this wiki. In fact, only reason why I know and love Fandom in the 1st place is because of the fork of the wiki from Fandom to Weird Gloop. But in terms of editing, I unfortunately feel hopeless :/ 👁 Image
Brain180, "click here to talk" 11:02, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
That doesn't necessarily mean you can't have autopatrol though, does it? I mean, just 'cause you don't edit often doesn't mean you edit good, and besides, autopatrol doesn't even really affect you that much. -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  14:39, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
Hey Nerdyguy, I just remembered that I need to respond to your message only after just 11 days. So I'm terribly sorry about that, I'm just very busy on Fandom, YouTube, and other websites.
Anyways, you think that having the autopatrol right won't affect me, but I don't think that way. You see, having the autopatrol right on this wiki is like having a never-forgotten achievement. It shows that you're particularly a part of the community of this wiki. But that's NOT I WANTED. I have intentionally and unintentionally lost the feeling off being a part of this wiki's community. And honestly, I prefer this wiki's community to forget about me than I getting constantly talked about. And therefore as I said b4, editing this wiki is not in my top 3 priority. In fact, it's sometimes my last priority. And btw, it's important than I said "this wiki" instead of "the Minecraft Wiki", why? Well you'll figure it out!
And as for my edit's quality over frequency, well first thing first, while almost having 7800 edits on this wiki, I technically still a newbie on this wiki. You see, I only migrated to this wiki in the first day of 2025, after that I would not edit that much at all and I often unpredictably taking breaks from this wiki after making 5 edits at most, and these breaks could be days, weeks, or even months. And so that's why even though I have about 7800 edits, most of the edits come from the Fandom Minecraft Wiki before it got forked to here, and probably not even 1.8% of my edits are come from this wiki. And since I migrated about 1.25 years late, this wiki has rapidly changed a lot, which I obviously cannot keep up with it, and I also don't want to learn what's new to this wiki, it's very pointless for me.
And secondly, it doesn't really matter anymore. FireX420 had agreed not to me the right, and I'm tired of giving reasons to this. Not everything need much reasons at all, and it's also my request after all.
Anyways, that's all I wanted to say, my conclusion is that I don't want to have the autopatrol right since I by design don't frequently edit this wiki and never happily want to edit nor to become well-known on this wiki in the first place. I'd rather stick to Fandom and YouTube and be known as one of the user with highest edits amount on the wiki that has no special user rights, neither currently nor formally. 👁 Image
Brain180, "click here to talk" 23:26, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
Well, okay then I guess. I can't really imagine why anyone wouldn't want to have autopatrol, but I mean, if you really don't want it, okay then. -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  00:55, 16 July 2025 (UTC)

copper durability

[edit source]
Latest comment: 7 September 20257 comments4 people in discussion

I'm confused why you put 191 as the durability for Copper Pickaxe and Copper Axe. I broke 193 blocks with the pickaxe. CherrySwiftie13 (talk) 19:40, 1 July 2025 (UTC)

My testing indicates that all copper tools can mine 191 of their respective block type before breaking. Are you 100% sure you counted the number of blocks you mined correctly? – FireX @ 19:43, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
Yes. I broke 3 full stacks (192) + 1 block which would make 193. I can look again but I'm pretty sure it's 193. CherrySwiftie13 (talk) 19:48, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Some blocks intant break regardless of tool and don't reduce durability though. Question is, is FireX sure? Hmm... -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  19:51, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
Okay I decided to do a more reliable approach through a script and the script says 190. Bedrock usually does 1 more for some reason so 191 would be it. You're correct. I just think 193 would make more sense because it doesn't make sense to me that it would be 2 less than 3 full stacks. CherrySwiftie13 (talk) 19:54, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
Might make less sense, but it's still correct. -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  20:00, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
Java Edition only: If you turn on "Advanced Tooltips" with debug hotkey  +  you can see the durability of tools. Maximum durability is 190 in Java Edition. Whydeletemyaccs/talk/my edits 02:03, 7 September 2025 (UTC)

0.8.0 alpha build 1

[edit source]
Latest comment: 18 September 20253 comments2 people in discussion

Hi! Thank you for expanding the article. I originally placed the commands outside the "Added" section,
since we only know they are present in that version: they could have been added to the codebase
in an earlier version (but left out of release builds). Similarly, I think the commands not being included in b2
should be documented in the "Changes" section (you know, some of these commands found their way in 1.2.13)
Anyway, that's my two cents. Pickblock (talk) 16:58, 17 September 2025 (UTC)

When the version in which something was added to the game's code and the version in which the same thing became accessible in-game are different, this wiki typically uses the latter to determine which version's additions section something should be placed under. The same principle is applied for removals as well. As an example, Java Edition Infdev 20100227-1414 made a ton of features inaccessible, and despite most of them still existing in the game's code, they're all listed in the removals section. When later Infdev versions gradually reimplement everything, these reimplementations are listed under the respective additions sections. I noticed that Bedrock Edition 1.2.14 lists the removal of developer commands under the changes section, but that page should be edited to place it under removals – FireX @ 21:12, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
I added a small disclaimer into the section to clarify things a bit for readers. Feel free to edit or rephrase it.
Just FYI: now that I have dug more into this all, I've discovered that b1 is based on 0.7.5, not 0.7.6 like b2 is (do /give 43 and it shows up as "tile.stoneSlab.name<"). So keep that in mind while documenting each build. --Pickblock (talk) 15:45, 18 September 2025 (UTC)

Any articles on leaked developer builds are going to be deleted for violating Minecraft's TOS. There have been previous attempts at creating articles on some of those builds, and while most of them were deleted because the pages had no meaningful content on them, the ones with actual content were deleted for the reason previously mentioned – FireX @ 15:29, 7 December 2025 (UTC)

By that, do you mean giving you the ability to use admin tools on exclusively your user page (protecting your page, blocking users from editing it, etc.)? That isn't possible without making you an administrator for the entire wiki, which of course would require putting in a large amount of time and effort before such a thing would be considered – FireX @ 23:43, 22 December 2025 (UTC)

No autoblocks would be getting issued if the user was truly inactive. As long as nobody is getting autoblocked incorrectly, I don't see any reason to change the user's block settings. Additionally, as previously stated on the admin noticeboard, you can check the "Hide autoblocks" box in the block list if you find their autoblocks to be a nuisance – FireX @ 17:29, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
