CHERRY - A company with tradition
As early as 1953, Walter L. Cherry began manufacturing the first microswitches in the basement of a restaurant in Illinois. 20 years later, the first keyboards were built - making CHERRY the oldest manufacturer of computer keyboards. In 1983, production of the MX switches began, which are now used billions of times in millions of keyboards around the world.

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we donβt use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Learn more how customers reviews work on AmazonI'm a computer programmer; I've been using computer keyboards since the early 80s and am really picky about what I use for work. I'm going to go out on a limb, here, and give Apple credit for perfecting the chicklet style keyboard for Macs. In fact, their old wired version is like the holy grail for me. Typing all day with shorter key travel, but the solid feel of having hit the key, on a solid keyboard, heavy enough to not slide around. I also absolutely work more poorly unless I have a full size keyboard with separate number pad and distinctly separate arrow and editing keys in between - it's just what I'm used to. This keyboard doesn't skimp. Everything is spaced exactly as it should be.
Well, Cherry pulls through with this one; finally a great chicklet style mechanical keyboard for Windows at a reasonable price. I've been using it for about 10 months, now, and am extremely satisfied with it. I work from home and, as I said, I'm a full time computer programmer, so it gets a lot of use.
I'm amazed at how long the battery life is. I've left it on while going on vacation and was able to use it fully when I got back; it never died on me - every couple of months I think "it's been so long, it must be running low," so plug it in overnight.
The connectivity works wonderfully, although I currently have a USB hub sitting right under my monitor with the dongle in it. I haven't tried BT - BT has never worked well for me for mice or keyboards - when it doesn't lag, it drops because I stopped typing for a few minutes and needs to reconnect. That's not this keyboard - I haven't tried BT, as I said. Once bitten, I guess. The USB dongle has been working flawlessly.
One issue I had with the wired version of the keyboard - no riser - is addressed with this wireless one, as it comes with a riser to give a decent angle for typing. The rubber feet help keep it in place.
Extremely satisfied with this one; using it on my work systems that I have at home, I'm considering buying a second one for my personal computer.
First, this is an excellent keyboard and has a high-quality, premium look and feel β I got it for $60 and that seems about right.
If you like quiet scissor-type keys with reasonable feedback, this keyboard fits the bill. I have been using a DasKeyboard and a Logitech with Cherry Red and Cherry Red Silent switches, but I find that I type faster with these lower profile keys. But β¦ I will always keep one of each around because it seems like switching up the keyboard ergonomics is better for keeping my wrists fresh when fatigue starts to set in.
Second, I want to emphasize that although this keyboard is excellent, it is not backlit. This wasnβt a dealbreaker for me, but I did have to pick up a Logitech MX Keys wireless keyboard for the backlighting β I work overnight in a low-light environment and having a small amount of backlighting helps accuracy getting on and off the keyboard when switching between a mouse and dictaphone and typing. The Logitech keyboard is more expensive but is more heavily constructed; it also feels like a very premium product. Not better than the Cherry, just different.
Last, I have been using the USB dongle and the connectivity has been absolutely bulletproof. I find it easier to carry a USB splitter with 2-3 USB dongles in place when switching between workstations and home than repeatedly configuring and reconfiguring Bluetooth, so I canβt speak to some of the BT issues that have been discussed in other comments.
Purchased this for work usage as a network engineer. The 2.4 connectivity works well. Love the soft type scissors keys and low to no noise. Extremely useful media, PC lock key and calculator key. Size is wonderful and flat which is exactly what I was looking for. This replaced my legendary Logitech K740 that I could no longer find available anywhere. Battery life has been exceptional and goes months without indicating low battery. Overall, a stellar design and comfortable keyboard. I don't use the rear riser which keeps my wrists flat and comfortable during longer bulk work.
I tried this Cherry KW 9100 Slim Wireless Keyboard for 30 days. I continued to experience duplicated keystrokes and missed keystrokes. I was 3 days past the return window.
I had an MX Keys S but I never really liked the feel of the key activation compared to the Arteck keyboard I had before. The Logitech keys where a little loose and had a mushy membrane feeling. The Arteck was too thin, it steel backing would bounce back while I was typing.
This keyboard solves both those problems, not only is it sturdy but the key travel feels great. It's probably the best low travel keyboard I've ever used.
However there are 2 significant drawbacks:
1) The key caps are much smaller, 15mm wide instead of 17mm and there is too much space between the keys. It increases error and overall is a pretty confusing choice considering how non-standard it is. This also sounds silly, but the keys are kind of sharp, the corners aren't rounded and they poke my fingers. Overall just a bizarre design.
2) There's only a 2 or 3 key rollover depending on the row, after that it buffers the other keys until you release the first keys that were held down. This makes it terrible as a gaming keyboard. Even a $30 Arteck keyboard has 6 key rollover so I expected much better form this brand.
I don't know why it's so hard to find a good scissor switch or low travel keyboard. It's almost like companies are hobbling these keyboards on purpose or something.
How can every laptop manufacturer do fine with these boards but as soon as you want one on your desk it's such a mess?
This keyboard, while not an NKRO one, is set up really well to avoid ghosting during practical use and light gaming. The feedback is nice, as the switches have a good pressure falloff (which is something I prefer in keyboards), the key travel feels just right, and the construction is slim, yet durable and has a nice heft to it. I've been using it for about a couple of weeks and haven't had to charge it since taking it out of the box. The Bluetooth connection is also stable (I haven't tried the RF dongle, which it also comes with, but I don't have any free USB ports left), though it is a little too eager to go to sleep. However, this hasn't interfered with my usage of it in any way, as the keys queue up when you're typing and the keyboard sends them as soon as it wakes up, which only takes about a tenth of a second. I would recommend this for anyone who needs a reliable and durable keyboard with a long battery life.
I was tired of my old keyboard. It was very "stubborn". I tend to hit the spacebar on one of the far sides, not in the middle, and this keyboard did not respond. So I often had to backspace and correct errors. But the Cherry keyboard does respond beautifully. I can type faster on it, it's quieter and has a sleek look, and I don't have to correct so many "typing" errors. I'm very pleased with it. Setup was a breeze, too!
I like this keyboard for the tight space I need it in. It works well, typing is good. I use mechanical switched at most of my workstations so I'm a bit of a snob but for the price and keys, these type well. And the battery life is very good. I think I've only charged it once. The only drawback for me is they put another backspace key where the - key should be. We use the 10-key a lot and I'm finding I have to periodically re-type some numbers when I accidentally hit backspace instead of -.
About as Vanilla Dad of a keyboard as you can get, 1 star off for not having ANY back lighting. Other then that, no problems so far. Also, no battery indicator, that I can see. But if you want pretty dang low profile, and quiet. this is your keyboard. Easy to clean cat hair off. Dust etc.. Doesn't seem to flex when I type, feels solid.
over priced, normal laptop keyboard fee. i like surface pro keyboard more
