CHERRY - A company with tradition
As early as 1953, Walter L. Cherry began manufacturing the first microswitches in the basement of a restaurant in Illinois. 20 years later, the first keyboards were built - making CHERRY the oldest manufacturer of computer keyboards. In 1983, production of the MX switches began, which are now used billions of times in millions of keyboards around the world.
CHERRY SE, headquartered in Germany, is a leading global manufacturer of computer input devices with a focus on office, gaming, industry, security, eHealth solutions and switches for mechanical keyboards.
High-quality German engineering meets outstanding design: our products combine perfect quality and aesthetics with maximum precision and durability.
CHERRY stands for quality products aimed at all those who have high demands on performance, design, durability and functionality of their input devices.
USB microphone for streaming and office with shock mount function
CHERRY SE, headquartered in Germany, is a global manufacturer of computer input devices with a focus on office, gaming, industry, security, eHealth solutions as well as switches for mechanical keyboards.
From its humble beginnings in 1953, the iconic brand has stood for quality products designed in Germany. CHERRY peripherals are aimed at those who have high demands on performance, design, durability and functionality in todayโs modern workplace.
Video calls while working from home, a podcast with several people or new content for your vlog? With the CHERRY UM 6.0 ADVANCED, you're ready for any of these situations. Thanks to the two different directional patterns (cardioid and omnidirectional), you always benefit from first-class, professional sound quality. The shock mount function ensures that unwanted vibrations or background noise are perfectly isolated.
The front panel of the CHERRY UM 6.0 ADVANCED features a gain control that allows you to adjust the sensitivity of the microphone. For example, if you are vlogging and want to capture sounds that are quieter and/or further away, you can increase the sensitivity.
The UM 6.0 ADVANCED is a streaming microphone with shock-mount function that reliably filters out unwanted background noise and vibrations. This is achieved by the rubber bands in the familiar CHERRY red, which decouple the microphone from the foot and thus isolate it perfectly.
If, for example, you are an influencer and use the microphone to talk from the front when vlogging, you will use the cardioid mode. To use the microphone for a video conference with several people in the same room, switch to omnidirectional mode and the sound is recorded from all sides.
If you want to mute the USB microphone for the PC when streaming, it only takes one touch. A red LED on the top lights up when your CHERRY UM 6.0 ADVANCED is muted. To unmute, touch the icon again and the indicator goes out.

Tried different mics and this one is better than the rest. Gives me the sound quality I was looking for without breaking the bank.
I received this lovely Cherry UM 6 in really nice packaging, it felt very much like Christmas present with the black tissue paper the microphone was wrapped in, very stylish. This is communicates USB A to USB C, black and red coloring seems to be the motif and you get plenty of cord along with a velcro wire wrap to bundle up the excess wire you're not using. There is a 3.5mm monitor port next to the USB C port on the bottom and the volume knob on the back of the mic opposite the gain knob in front. The tripod stand takes up slightly more real estate than I'd like but is solid. The gain knob presses in to switch omnidirectional and cardioid modes, the mode you're in is reflected by the lights on top of the mic and the color indicates if the mic is muted or not, white it's hot, red it's muted. The lights are somewhat minimalist, only 5 can light up at the most when you're omnidirectional.
I set up three microphones but the third one was a full tier below the other two that I mostly ended up comparing the Cherry UM 6 to a HyperX Quadcast (Red only, not RGB). While they're in two different price points, they're on definitely close enough performance wise to compare. For normal voice chatting they're both greatly usable but I liked the way I sounded on the Cherry mic better, there was more nuance and details where as the HyperX was a hair louder but cleaned up and more clinical. Where I noticed a significant difference is with Voicemod and what comes out of the other side after processing.
I have a few voices I play with on Voicemod and one particularly trouble voice never sounded right for me, it somehow became nasal, naggy and raspy in tone by the time Voicemod was done processing it. I couldn't make it sound better on the HyperX except by forcing myself to maintain a lower tone which required effort to do. The Cherry in cardioid mode managed to wrangle a lot of the naggy and some of the nasal but when I switched it to omnidirectional the rest of the ick fell away and suddenly it hit the sweet spot. I don't think the mic is magically better but just that it gave the program more to work with.
Really impressed that the middle of this UM series is hitting above it's weight. I didn't know what to expect but it really has me thrilled how much quality and value they packed into this.

I ordered the Cherry UM 6.0 Microphone for my iMac Desktop computer. My all in one computer has a built in speaker that is by all means acceptable for video conferencing, FaceTime, podcasts, etc, but I was looking for something a little more versatile without sacrificing the quality of my audio. The Cherry USB microphone was the perfect add on solution for my set-up. I've rated it five stars based on the following:
- The Cherry 6.0 US Microphone was nicely packaged with the microphone, USB cable, and easy to follow instructions. Set-up was exceptionally easy. It is truly plug and play right out of the box. Sometimes add on peripherals on Apple products can be a challenge, but it wasn't the case with this Mic. When I plugged it into my iMac the computer immediately recognized the device and set it as my primary audio component.
- This microphone has excellent features that gives a lot of options when it comes to your computer set up. The manufacturer thought out all of the details with the Cherry UM 6.0. The mic itself is connected to a very sturdy adjustable stand with a shock mount, which worked perfectly to prevent vibrations and unwanted sounds during my calls. It provides crystal clear audio with the volume control easily accessible with the turn of the dial. On the bottom of the microphone, there is an audio jack where you can connect your headphones as well. If you decide that you want to use a different mic stand mount, there is a cap at the bottom of the mic that gets removed so you can install a scissor/boom style arm mount. The cord is approximately 8 feet long which gives you a ton of options for placement of this microphone.
- One of the coolest features with this microphone is the ability to switch between two polar patterns. If you push in the volume control button, it switches between cardioid and omni directional modes. What this does is allows you to improve the quality and efficiency of the audio captured by your microphone depending on what you're using it for. For example, omnidirectional will capture sound from all directions equally, whereas cardioid picks up sound mostly from the front, some from the sides, and none from the backside of the microphone. I also love the fact that the audio can be easily muted with the touch of the LED mute button at the top of the microphone.
The Cherry UM 6.0 Advanced microphone is an excellent quality product and does not disappoint whether you're using it for business or personal reasons. Everything works exactly as described and it is loaded with features and controls to enhance the audio quality of your computer setup. It certainly doesn't hurt that it looks great too! Overall, highly recommend. I wouldn't hesitate to order this microphone again.

This microphone is designed for various purposes, including gaming, recording, streaming, podcasting, and studio work. It comes with a single touch mute function, which allows you to quickly mute the microphone. Additionally, it has a metal adjustable stand with a shock mount, which helps to reduce unwanted vibrations and noise. The microphone is compatible with both PC and Mac computers and has a USB connection for easy setup. Overall, the Cherry UM 6.0 USB Microphone is a solid choice for anyone looking for a versatile and high-quality microphone for their computer.
There is a lot of value packed into this microphone. Right out of the box it was easy to setup and start using. The included cable is nice and long enough even after I connected the microphone to an arm. The switching between microphone odes was simple and the LED's are easy to see so you know what mode you are in. The audio quality is clear and so far I am very impressed with the quality at this price point. Very happy so far!
Have been using multiple mics lately and keep going back to this one for the great clear quality. No distortion and very easy set up. Can clearly hear anyone in the area from every angle without having to adjust
As a professional voice artist/narrator, I sometimes need to work on the road. This mic is great for that, due to its compact size and light weight. It's a basic mic, but it delivers high quality audio (see video). It takes no time at all to set up, and the built-in shock mount is a real plus. Headphone jack is on the bottom of the mic head, and the top has lights that indicate whether you're live or muted--nice feature! In addition, there's a tain control on the body of the mic.
