CHERRY - A company with tradition
As early as 1953, Walter L. In 1983, production of the MX switches began, which are now used billions of times in millions of keyboards around the world.

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Learn more how customers reviews work on AmazonYou pair the Cherry KW9200 with a code the first time, but after that, it pairs automatically when the keyboard is turned on. It is very solidly constructed, and the key labels are embossed, which ought to ensure the labels don't wear off with use - like several other keyboards I've had.
The keys are concave in shape which helps to center your fingers on the keys for accurate typing. The F1 through F12 keys have an alternate function that can be toggled but they are standard Win11 functions, not in the same order as used by Apple on the iPad - but I seldom use those functions anyway. The keys are not lighted, but the labels are very clear (white on black). The dual function keys such as ? / and : ; have the placement vertically. Some keyboards place the double function labels horizontally. I prefer the vertical placement; it's easier to read and less confusing.
The typing feel is fine. There's more vertical travel than in most Bluetooth keyboards, but not as much as my HyperX Alloy Core Membrance Gaming Keyboard. It comes with a travel case which is nice to have. It was a good purchase.
Takes a few strokes to get past my old, expansive keyboard, but this beautiful, smaller-sized keyboard is just the dog for the pony show. It's heavy, but portable, so it doesn't slide around on the desktop (like my old keyboard). The silent keys are heavenly -- resistant but quiet, again unlike my old machine gun fire sounding cheapo KB. Backlight on keys is cherry red which makes it really eye catching, too.
So far so good! I really want to bring something to your attention before I give a proper review however, so I'll give it a proper review after I have had more time with it. Scroll to the bottom for the review.
Having trouble connecting?
Here's how it worked for me, give it a try!
I am on linux so the process is similar but may have different results.
1. I turned on the device switch to '|' (on)
2. On the computer I opened the full bluetooth settings menu
(on linux I generally press the bluetooth button on the taskbar which opens up a temporary mini window right where I clicked it.. Then I clicked the 'configure bluetooth' which is on the top right side and that opened up the full menu.)
3. I pressed and held FN and the F2 at the same time until the light next to my finger started flashing.
4. I clicked "pair device" on the bluetooth menu.
5. I selected the CHERRY KW 9200 MINI from the list and clicked connect.
THIS IS WHERE THE CONFUSING PART HAPPENED. I humoured the onscreen instructions.
6. The onscreen instructions told me to type in the numbers below using the keyboard's screen.
Obviously the keyboard has no screen and I was very confused. But I went along with anyway.
7. I typed the numbers in carefully one at a time and made sure before I clicked the number that it was correct. I have no idea if I can correct them. When I finished typing in all the numbers I hit enter.
For whatever reason, it connected after I hit enter. It was a weird proces that made no sense.
IF IT shows a loading bar or it doesn't close the connection dailogue window but the numbers disappear after you hit enter, you should be able to safely close that dialogue box anyway. I did.
REVIEW on the first day:
So far, it feels sturdy and strong. It looks nice and is satisfying to use. I would say it was worth the buy, but only time will tell. It's slightly wider than I would have preferred but I am still able to switch between using it in both hands for quick typing or laying it on my lap for gaming. It's heavy and grippy enough that it doesn't slide everywhere. Off to a good start!
I shall elaborate as time passes. If I forget to update the review, then it's safe to assume it was that good.
Exactly what I needed. Low height keys and wireless, while maintaining compactness for portability and low latency for gaming. Absolute Godsend.
Exactly as advertised and perfect for what I needed.
Two main things that made made me have to return it.
1. The 2.4ghz mode, one of the main reasons I got it (so I could use it for some gaming without it wired) is worse than any five dollar bluetooth device, it constantly misses keys I press and lags up. I tested with a usb extender placing the dongle inches away from the keyboard's receiver and no change.
2. I installed the cherry utility software, my hope was that maybe there was a firmware update that could resolve the issue. I loaded up the software and had the keyboard plugged into the computer using the cord that came with it, and the software could not detect the keyboard.
I was really hoping that since this is the same company who also makes keyboard parts for mechanical keyboard enthusiasts and is well known, that they could make a decent keyboard. I'm pretty disappointed.
I can not recommend this keyboard to anyone unless they only plan on this being either a wired keyboard, or a bluetooth keyboard. But then, at this price, I can't recommend that either.
Great mobile membrane keyboard. I wish it had some kind of backlight, but otherwise I can't complain. The build quality is nice, it's a little heavy, and the battery life is super long
I travel often and require connectivity to multiple devices at times. This keyboard is amazing as it supports connectivity with a USB cable, a dongle adapter, and 2 bluetooth devices. It is sturdy and a good typing experience, especially for such a low profile keyboard. The battery life is great as well.
