Minwi (pronounced /ˈmɪn.wi/) is a personification of the Minecraft Wiki. Originally created by user MuzikBike in January 2025, it was adopted as the wiki's official mascot on February 5, 2026, as the result of a forum discussion.

Minwi's design is based on the colors and elements present in the Minecraft Wiki logo.

Minwi has a light tan skin. Their hair is split-dyed down the middle, with blue on the left and green on the right, representing ocean and forest respectively. Conversely, their left eye is green and their right eye is blue. They wear a wreath made of pink petals on their head and their left wrist, resembling the cherry grove biome. They also wear a cloud hairpin on the left side of their head. They are typically depicted in a white-and-green striped T-shirt, under blue overalls. A bee pattern can be seen on the back of the overalls. They wear yellow socks and brown shoes, and have a small bandage on their left leg.

Main page

Minwi can be used on the main page images, e.g in File:MOM main page image light Minwi.png

Project and tutorial namespace pages

Non-encyclopedic pages can feature images with Minwi since a more casual tone is expected.

Community messaging

Social media posts, Discord announcements, main page banner image etc. can include Minwi to give more personality.

Wiki user interface

Minwi can be used as decoration in certain UI contexts, such as the 404 page.

Minwi should not be used in renders and screenshots for content namespaces. Pages with demonstrative renders such as Crawling should only use default skins, not Minwi.

• Prefer the "current" Minwi skin/render rather than the alternative designs.
• Minwi does not have a gender and they/them/their pronouns should be used in official references to them. In casual discussion, any pronouns can be used.
• Minwi does not have an official backstory or lore. Minwi should be presented as happy, joyful, and interested in learning.

Any image containing Minwi player character may be added to Category:Images with Minwi character.

In Java Edition, you can obtain a player head or summon a mannequin set to Minwi's skin using the following commands. Please note these are too long for chat, so they should be run in a command block.

On April 1, 2026, a Minwi chatbot interface was added to every page. Supposedly powered by BigAI 6.7 Flash model, the answers the chatbot gave were actually handwritten and contained a mini ARG game where it was revealed that Minwi was trapped by Big AI Corp and they asked for the player's help to escape. Minwi originated as a proposal for wiki mascot in the forum thread How about a wiki mascot?. The first Minwi design was made by MuzikBike. The final adopted design was made by QwertyLilley. It was chosen for its more pastel color palette and "vanilla" face structure.

Minwi's design received multiple iterations around saturation, shading, and face style.

While additional mascots were also proposed, Minwi remained the primary candidate throughout most of the discussion.
