Consensus for Minwi to become the mascot. Main page images have been changed, Twitter banner has been changed, Minecraft Wiki:Minwi page in process.

Welcome to the sequel of Forum:How about a wiki mascot?. This is a seperate discussion due to how gargantuan and messy the first one became to the degree that I think it would be impossible to get a conclusion out of it. This proposal is meant to be much more direct, so please I'd really rather new mascots weren't proposed here.
I propose that the English Minecraft Wiki has its own mascot, a "character" that represents the wiki and that we can place across the wiki. Why? For fun and for recognition. I see no negative to the mascot, and the support of having one has already been made clear, so I don't think extensive reasoning is required.
That mascot is Minwi.
The version of Minwi I am suggesting (and very strongly I believe this is the one to go with) is made by Qwertylilley, though the concept overall is made by User-12316399 (please get a real name so you are more easily creditable!). I strongly think this iteration should be our final one due to the simply great texturing, the clear design, and the design being consistent with Minecraft's official skin. Other designs were either too saturated or flat or had large eyes that felt weird.
Some more specific details on Minwi and what they should be:
- Yes, they, I don't think we should assign a gender to the mascot. I think we should let people refer to Minwi however they want. The design is androgynous enough for this to work perfectly fine.
- Minwi should not have a detailed backstory or lore. People can write their own story for them on their user pages if they want, but doing it officially via a MCW page would be a big waste of time for all of us.
- At most a vague happy, joyful, and interested in learning personality to reflect their design and yknow, we're a wiki.
- Officially, Minwi is a shortening of Minecraft Wiki, and their design reflects the logo.
Things that will happen immediately after the proposal passes:
- Minwi will have a Minecraft Wiki:Minwi page dedicated to them and explaining them. This would include design credits as well, and could also have the other proposed designs listed.
- Minwi will be used in all main page update banner screenshots. I have created the screenshots for First Drop 2026 with Minwi, and I'll see if Zamburger can get the Mounts of Mayhem screenshots updated. Immediately I think this one addiiton will give Minwi a good presence on the wiki, as these screenshots are a big focus of the main page.
- Minwi will be present in the wiki's social media banner. I will implement this on Twitter right away, admins for the other socials will (probably) implement it on theirs.
- I've been sharing the top 10 most viewed wiki pages per month on Twitter, and I'll integrate Minwi into these graphics (I will probably be improving the design of these graphics, I know Minwi looks out of place here).
Things that could happen, but would require more work by others:
- Minwi could be added to the empty grass space at the top of the desktop skin, perhaps a small pixelated version by Oakar567
- Minwi could be placed at the bottom right of search result pages
- Minwi could be included freely in renders and screenshots made for the Tutorial namespace, as these pages are meant to be more casual
Things that will not happen:
- Minwi will not be included in renders and screenshots for content namespaces. Pages with demonstrative renders such as Crawling will continue to only use default skins, never Minwi. Minwi may become our mascot, but that does not change the fact that the skin would be drastically more distracting than default skins.

- I guess we could go with it. One advantage with QwertyLilleyβs suggested model and design is that expressing emotions may be easier if the need comes. β BabylonAS 12:58, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

Support this proposal. I also support having Minwi on the search results page and possibly on error pages (like 404) as well. Repeating what I mentioned in the original discussion, I'd like them to have a disappointed pose when there are no results (or on error pages) and a happy pose when there are results. -- π Image

Support. I think one more use would be in user welcome messages, but that should be done by the users who welcome people. And, if possible, maybe on the account creation and Special:Upload pages, just to make them more vivid.
Sorry for going off-topic here, but now main page banners can get updated, I'd request to just please make them have Vibrant Visuals. Not mandatorily for all banners of course, but it looks very stupid if we keep all of them on Java with those ugly old graphics. Mojang Studios uses VV for all promotional screenshots, and according to them it's the intended modern look and feel of Minecraft, and it just looks much prettier as main page banners, so I don't see why all recent banners don't have it. don't make this a long discussion here, if you want just move that to here
If we'd actually make other in-game screenshots with Minwi (I think we should), then those should also be VV of course. MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) π Image

Support overall. I'm a bit unsure about main page update screenshots as I personally see them more as game documentation than wiki images, and trying to force Minwi in might make the images a bit too cluttered (e.g. the current first drop screenshot is perfectly fine without Minwi imo) --Capopanzo (talk | contribs) 15:03, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
- Theyβre staged set up screenshots to represent drops so I think it makes sense to feature a player interacting with the features (the Mounts of Mayhem screenshot already does this just with Alex), and itβs not on a content documentation page so I donβt think it being a custom skin should be an issue, especially since the main page is already something that is more casual with readers, like talking to them directly. But I will keep in mind about the screenshots potentially being too cluttered. - Harri / Talk π Image

- While I also think there's no need for a player in the drop 1 image, Harri's image doesn't feel too bloated IMO, and it seems reasonable to me to "force" Minwi just this once for their introduction.
- (Your reply and MinecraftBedrockPlayer7's above yours make me think that a different dicussion probably needs to exist to establish some guidelines on how to make these images.) - Zamburger (talk) 16:12, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

Support -- my stance has not changed. Your clear proposal is good and I see no negatives to it myself. For the other mascot ideas, they may continue on the other forum, or they may not. But it's been a good process and yes, I support the proposed design. -~- Nerdyguy2000 Talk Edits 15:11, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

Support using QwertyLilley's design, Minwi's details and the proposed usages.
- I only have a minor reservation, for now, about whether they should be included in the header, depending on how it's implemented and how it looks. - Zamburger (talk) 15:58, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah I'm also a bit dubious about including them in the header. I'll wait for some mock-ups.--Capopanzo (talk | contribs) 16:14, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

Strong support: They're like an incarnation of the Overworld with its pretty cherry flowers! I don't see any reason to oppose such a lustrous idea. π Image

. I love Minwi! She is a great representation of the wiki logo. I like how you put the cherry blossom trees into consideration. People will now get distracted by the wiki!
- If someone had themes enabled, the cute little picture of Minwi on the top of the page could change. Also, if they had walking pink sheep on the top of the page enabled, Minwi should be able to pet these sheep.
- Maybe Minwi's lore would be that she used to be an orphan and barely had money, so she created this wiki and got paid.

Note I personally prefer PhoenixAsh89's version, as it is the only one so far to have a Nether version, which I find appealing as a possibility to have them match the site skin of the user. However I do agree that QwertyLilley's version is most in line with the vanilla style AND is the only one to have expression concepts already, and the dimensional variants is more of a gimmick so it's not as much of a big deal. 166.181.250.167 17:53, 2 February 2026 (UTC)

I see we're finally moving forward with the finishing touches on this project. There are some things I want to know, however:
- would the mascot also be eligible for depiction on "Guides" pages, as well as other areas on the main page?
- if we ever manage to get the wiki videos project up and running again, would this be the skin we use for those (given they're effectively external content not directly tied to the brand), or would this, too, require default skin usage?
- would the wiki specifically only use renders, or would other illustrations also be desired?
- I'm fine being credited directly using my minecraft/discord account name instead of this one. - User-12316399 (talk) 18:06, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- 1. Guide pages are just more detailed lists of features added. Maybe they are more like tutorials and therefore Minwi would fit, but I have no idea where they could be added on guide pages. Maybe each guide page could have an overview screenshot of the update with Minwi? I don't know.
- 2. Yes. But...Wiki Videos is certainly dead forever, because we have the community videos which basically has resulted in all wiki videos being done by the BlockExploration account.
- 3. I imagine those illustrations would need to be considered more carefully than a render. A render is always going to use the agreed upon design while someone's illustration may not fit well. But yes maybe. - Harri / Talk π Image
