Multiplayer sections

[edit source]
Latest comment: 12 July 20254 comments4 people in discussion

Minecraft#Multiplayer (Java) tells about multiplayer in general and servers and Minecraft#Multiplayer (Bedrock) tells about multiplayer system in bedrock. What about changing these to the following:

== Multiplayer ==
text from Multiplayer (Java) section
=== Java ===
text about multiplayer in java
=== Bedrock ===
text from Multiplayer (Bedrock) section

The sections are so short though. But I guess you could break it up. Or how about just combine them? They're so short anyways. Combine MC Realms into the same section. -- Simanelix (T|C) 17:49, 12 July 2025 (UTC)

Box Art

Should we add box art for Minecraft on the Nintendo Switch 2? PS4 and PS5 each have their own, so I think it makes sense. OddPoemGroomer (talk) 00:32, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

There ain't no such thing (as of now) TheFlamer2024 (talk) 23:05, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

Way too concise

This page takes time to list brewing and enchanting in its mechanics, but, curiously, not fishing, farming, or combat. Trading, bartering, and redstone circuits should be listed too. Currently, it is

Player

Blocks

Mining

Crafting and smelting

Brewing and enchanting

Mobs

The Nether

The End

It should go

Player

Blocks

Entities

Crafting

Cooking and smelting

Mining

Farming

Fishing

Combat

Trading and bartering

Brewing and enchanting

Redstone circuits

Archaeology

The Nether

The End

I’d edit it myself, but that feature’s locked to me.

Should we show experimental/developmental panoramas?

[edit source]
Latest comment: 4 March4 comments3 people in discussion

For context, this is written at a time that Bedrock Edition Preview 26.10.25 and it's panorama is new.

anyway, i find that when there is an experimental/developmental panoramas are out, they tend to not appear. at this moment in time, there is a new panaroma for the bedrock previews, and the image exists, and it is sitting there, in the Bedrock Preview, and no one is putting it in this category. so, i am asking my fellow editors, what the heck is this issue and is it something to be fixed or should we wait for the full release of 26.1 for putting the panoramas for new updates? ~2026-IslandMinecraftWool4299 (talk) 00:02, 4 March 2026 (UTC)

Panoramas are extensively documented in their own dedicated article. I don't think it is appropriate to show the development panoramas/title screens in this article, but they can be shown on their respective edition pages (JE/BE) via infobox tabber/caption. Outrowed (talk) 01:03, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
Thanks! to clarify though, if you were to load into the newest preview, you would see the new panorama. so, in other words, i thought it would be apropriate as long as it had an "in development" tag underneath.
But thank you!

Yes we only keep the current panorama here because this article is about the "full release" version of Minecraft, not necessarily development versions. Minecraft Preview serves that purpose. MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) πŸ‘ Image

Etymology

[edit source]
Latest comment: 17 March2 comments2 people in discussion

People usually intuit that it's called "MineCraft" because you Mine and Craft. But the name was given in pre-Classic, wayyy before crafting. The "Craft" part of the name is clearly therefore a reference to games like Warcraft or StarCraft. So the game's name is really the word "mine" using the suffix "-craft", not a compound of the verbs "mine" and "craft". This origin currently goes unsaid in the articles. This is clearly a top tier trivia point but I just need a reference for it.  Nixinova  T β„ C  04:31, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

IMO the first part of the trivia (just that it was named this before crafting) is enough, as finding a good source that it is actually inspired by Warcraft or StarCraft is likely impossible. ‑‑MinecraftExp123(talk|contribs) 07:38, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

What’s up with mincraft? Why do they have no sharks? Why do they act like they have no brain cells some times? ~2026-MeadowSculkSquid12004 (talk) 07:18, 6 May 2026 (UTC)

Talk pages are for discussing about the article, not Minecraft generally. πŸ‘ Image

The gallery of this entry contains series key art for the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Collection, but not for the Ultimate Collection. Requesting supplementation, thanks! η©Ίη‰ΉManoger (talk) 06:57, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
