There are 2 things I am confused about sticky pistons.
I play pocket edition, so I can't test it out yet. 71.35.186.79 17:58, 7 February 2015 (UTC)
Could someone add something about the "6-sided piston" and "6-sided sticky piston"? This was a well-known block for making maps. 108.216.23.230 00:40, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
Like about the Redstone lamp, "A redstone lamp activates instantly, but takes 2 redstone ticks to turn off (4 game ticks, or 0.2 seconds barring lag)". The updates said that it takes 2 redstone ticks and on the console versions, double of that.
I request this page to be split between piston and sticky piston. Boorider7 (talk) 16:27, 25 June 2016 (UTC)
0 agrees and 3 disagrees in 4 whole years, so I'm just going to consider this 100% resolved. Sagessylu (discuss | edits) 17:21, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
How do I /setblock a piston extension that is pushing a block?
--MCweb 03:09, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
I noticed that pistons can now move note blocks, where they could not before. Did not see it in the list. GreenBeing (talk) 22:39, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
Looks like that change was implemented in 17w47a Ryk3ld368 (talk) 03:05, 4 October 2021 (UTC)

Shouldn't we remove this column, as PS4 is discontinued? -FezEmerald (T|C) 03:18, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
Agreed. -sw9091 unable to log in 14.1.28.163 06:22, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
i think this should be added to the movable blocks list. that would be usefull.--Nanto2016 (talk) 00:22, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
I have never attempted to push the dragon egg with a piston, and do not know why I would attempt to do so, but it still bugs me that the table has information that conflicts with itself. Please apply corrections, and confirm that other data is correct while doing so. I am concerned that other data errors have snuck in, and I am too inexperienced to be able to filter out the bad data on my own.

I wanna add the word (double piston extender) to the achievement because that is what the achievement is on.
Also, how do I add a link to the observer page where I added the word Observer. --Petey567 (talk) 17:42, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
@Petey567: To add a wikilink, put double brackets around the term, for example [[observer]] in the editor becomes the link observer. A "double piston extender" has no meaning to most people, so I suggest you don't add it without including some context. Amatulic (talk) 19:59, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
I don't know how to use the BlockLink template to add the respawn anchor to the list of blocks that can't be moved by pistons. Can someone do it for me? Thanks. --Mrmangod (talk) 01:41, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
the history section asks if b1.7.3 is the right edition for jack o lanterns no longer being able to be put on sticky pistons.
current official launcher:
b1.7.3 unable
b1.7.2 unable
b1.7 unable
downloaded the betacraft client:
b1.7.3 unable
b1.7.2 unable
b1.7_01 unable
b1.7 unable
can we confirm that it was ever actually possible? Ryk3ld368 (talk) 00:11, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
It says in the article it's faster to break with pickaxe "even though being made almost entirely of wood". What? 3 wood blocks to 4 stone and even an iron ingot. This statement makes no sense – Unsigned comment added by 1.123.85.43 (talk) at 10:30, 22 September 2021 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~
There is this block in Minecraft Bedrock Edition. You can only have it with /setblock. It is invisible, but you can walk through it. It has the block ID 34 and is already mentioned in this article. I’m pretty sure it’s the piston head from Java Edition. There is also “stickypistonarmcollision”, also somewhere in this. ID: 473. Are these blocks exclusive to Bedrock? I don’t know! Do some research! 101.185.66.160 09:16, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
Regarding the cleanup notice found at Piston#Usage and Sticky Piston#Usage:
Per the discussion in Minecraft Wiki:Forum/Page granularity guidelines#Regular and sticky pistons, there was decent support to split technical blocks from pistons, and to split sticky pistons from pistons.
As such I have split technical blocks off from pistons into a subpage called Piston/Technical components, and did the bulk of the work to split sticky pistons from pistons (DV, history, obtaining, etc.).
However I've found the usage section of the original Piston article to be too complex and intertwined for me to split off the usage information between piston and sticky piston, and since a lot of it is very technical information important to redstone readers, I have not split the section completely and instead left the original pre-split information intact and unchanged, on it's own subpage at Piston/Usage. Plus, some of the information, such as the table, would be useful to have on both pages, so the new subpage can be used for that purpose if that's what other editors believe to be more valuable info to have on both pages (the subpage can be moved to a new page if need be). A sticky piston can horizontally push and pull a block of redstone just fine, but vertically, it pushes the block up and then stays extended forever. Is this normal? – Unsigned comment added by 2001:7D0:81DC:3680:6C8F:9C14:C3B0:8DE8 (talk) at 14:09, 2 March 2024 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~
Should it say, in the trivia section, that there was a planned quieter sound in 1.21 that was replaced with the current (1.20) sound but quieter? Or does that belong in the history section? Nerdyguy2000 (talk) 23:09, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
Bell needs support when pushed in bedrock. It needs constant support based on where it was originally placed. So on a side of block it needs support on that side. Same for the roof and the floor. It gets consistent support by the piston head
For some reason, you cannot feed a sulfur cube with a (sticky)piston. I don’t know why. IronSculkJungle7643 (talk) 10:27, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
What does "When the rail and the block supporting it are on two vertically parallel extending pistons, the rail doesn't break." mean? Maybe an image could be added
In last trivia, "and remains even if IT is replaced with a solid block using /setblock.", what does this "it" refer to?
