Even as a good survivor and having extended ambush creativity built-in the inventory, I don't like this kit as much out of all. Health/effect tanking kind of makes it boring, and probably even worse in team matches.

Personally, OP/Sword PvP is my preferred way to fight, as this kit (preferably enchanted) shown one right thing about Mojang's implementation of attack cooldown: Sensible crit chains. I mean, 0.6 second bunny hopping matching (on flat grounds) with 0.6 second sword swing if timed correctly? Guess I can't argue with that thinking.
(P.S: Try to reverse the word krOP and see what I'm implying. Hehehe...)

Inspired by Team Fortress 2's My Gaming Edge mod and partially similar to Axe PvP, this kit depends less on nutrition and more on 110% battle combos like a real 1v1 deathmatch. It will solely depend on just the players' hotbar, as the remaining inventory slots are packed with 27 totems of undying at maximum. These modded totems will always activate on dying without having to equip it on hand.
A player will score a frag point every time they triggered one of the opponent's totem of undying, after that, both players will be applied with instant health instead of regeneration in order to continue the match. Via default settings, the first player to reach 27 points (aka popping away all totems from the opponent) wins.

Iron tier armors & weapons are recommended in MGE PvP. Netherite and diamond tiers are playable, but highly discouraged as it would extend the combat time in an annoying way.
After 1.20.x, Minecraft should've incremented to 2.x already instead of 1.21, considering the fact their data packs are making the API majorly impacted, not just because of the big features. Snapshots will remain the weekly way it used since 2012 instead of the lame consecutive numbers.

Swords are of course the classic weapon of Minecraft, and they should stay that way being the most balanced weapon. The only main difference to swords is that instead of cooldowns, they have backswing. What it allows players to do is spam the sword like in 1.8, but every other hit deals less damage, itβs the sword swinging backwards, like a normal arm motion. You can think of the damage as 5 3 5 3 5, and if you let your sword go back up itβs 5 again.
Sword blocking also needs to be brought back for parrying. A block wonβt do anything if held, but if pressed when the attacker strikes it will parry. Not sure what a parry should do yet other also having the ability to counter ender dragon breaths, so leave suggestions.

Knives, despite having a little less reach and damage, it does come in handy with its advantage of relatively high attack speed. And as a bonus from my logic, a successful backstab (hit from behind while sneaking) can deal a big critical damage that FULLY DOUBLES the regular damage, rather than the usual 150% total damage.

Axes are the brutal βkilling blowβ weapons of Minecraft. They should operate relatively similar to the way they do now except their reach should be significantly decreased, to where you can only hit mobs in a one block range, requiring you to get up close and personal to deliver the deadly strike.
They should also be the only weapon that breaks shields. This one is self explanatory.
The cooldown will still exist for axes, and it will be the only weapon with one, but it will be quicker than it is now to account for the range.

Spears have a more balanced damage vs durability parity. This lets players decide their weapons more considerately. Charge attacks would at the very least double and at most 8X base jab attacks, and will take effect when the entity reach is 2 or less.

Simply add a faster attack rate for non-smash mace attacks. Need I say more? If yes, sure, maces/hammers can now support as a multi-tool for axes, pickaxes and shovels. By enchanting it with Efficiency, it should be able to have a higher chance of breaking and dropping tough blocks faster.

This one is my favorite by far, and a complete game changer. Pickaxes are a staple of Minecraft, and should be more familiarized on the battlefield.
Pickaxes will essentially βbreakβ armor, depending on the pickaxe material and armor material, the pickaxe will make the armor less effective in the fight for a varying amount of ticks. Where the attacker can hit with a pick and switch to the sword or axe for a devastating blow.
They will also be the only other weapon with backswing, allowing you to almost spam and add more time and vulnerability to their vulnerable period.
They deal the same amount of damage as they currently do. And have only slightly less reach than a sword. Maybe longer reach exclusively for blocks.

Shovels are the big hitters of your weapon selection. Still dealing the same amount of damage as they do now but with significantly more knockback. The material will determine the knockbackβs effectiveness. And it can be enchanted with knock back to send your opponents out of the park, almost doubling or even tripling the distance, but not the damage.

Hoes can finally be brought into the fight in the sense that they work almost as the opposite to the shovel, pulling opponents in with the pull varying on the material.
This will not negate fishing rods as the reach wonβt be nearly as far, and rods will have their pull strength increased. The reach will be slightly further than a sword.

Bows will act as the slow but powerful ranged weapon. With it acting exactly the same as it does now.
Crossbows will act as the quick but weaker weapon, essentially acting the same as they do now with no increasing damage enchantment, but the main change is that the quick charge enchantment is even quicker in all tiers.
With normal enchantments, Sharpness starts with dealing 2 health on level I, and +1 more for each level increased. For mob-specific ones, the damage drops down from 2.5 per level to just 2 per level, since it was already too strong enough to begin with.
(Note that critical hits are represented in square parentheses.)
With Refining (for Swords), Cleaving (for Axes), Backstabbing (for Knives) and Barrage (for Pickaxes), each weapon can upgrade its own fighting style to it's full potential. And when stacked with damage-increasing enchantments, it will always deal 3 more health per level.

Since not only pickaxes can essentially break armor, mainly durability, I think Breach should be made available for those too.
