The update isn't out yet, so that's likely the reason. Plus, there might be some unaccounted for blocks that Mojang could be adding in the update that we don't know about. It's best to just wait until the update drops or we know more about it definitively. 👁 Image

Thats because it would be too big to make a block 1 meter in the set. Minecraft blocks are still 1 meter big. 👁 Image

Would anyone here support splitting up the list of blocks into categories, or even making a new page where blocks are split up into categories that make more sense, e.g. wood, stone, nether, ores etc. Instead of putting them in a single long alphabetised list. It's ridiculous that in the history of the page, every english page since June 22nd 2009 shows the up to date template of "Block overview.png". The file was never deleted, it was moved, so the page history was also moved. Nothing was deleted, so what are you saying here? 👁 Image

Template1.png has never been removed, it was renamed to "Block overview.png" and the old name was kept as a redirect. When you view a past revision of a page, things that are "external" to the page itself, such as files, are always loaded with the latest version; this is the normal behavior on any wiki that runs on MediaWiki, and it would have been the same even if the file was still named "Template1.png".--Capopanzo (talk | contribs) 23:52, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

Oh alright my bad, thank you Nmf and Capopanzo, I totally understand the situation now, the issue is not actually an issue, I could indeed find the file's history. But, to explain my confusion there : all pages for Block (" Bloc ") before June 29th 2018 do actually have that problem I just described, I just assumed is was the same shebang in English. Most wikis in foreign languages can use both local files and files uploaded to the English wiki. Older versions of the French Bloc page linked to fr:Fichier:350px-Template1.png, which was a file originally uploaded on the French wiki and deleted in 2022. Thank you, again, my apologies for the sudden not-reasoned-enough outburst. Since we're on the topic, would there be some way to create an image file in such a way that the old French pages do end up showing something, ideally images back as they did before 2022?

That's probably not possible, but you can view old versions of the file at File:Block overview.png, which includes old versions of Template1.png. 👁 Image

Deleted files and pages are never fully deleted, and administrators can still access and restore them. You can ask a French admin to restore fr:Fichier:350px-Template1.png, so that it shows up in old revisions of pages linking to it. If you create an account, you can also add it to your user page, so that the image technically is used in a page and you'll make sure it won't be deleted for being unused in the future. Keep in mind that old versions of pages can't be edited, and this still won't fully fix the issue (a revision from say 2013 would still show the latest version of the file). --Capopanzo (talk | contribs) 00:37, 1 February 2026 (UTC)

If you do wish to see pages exactly as they looked at any time in the past, look the pages up on the Wayback Machine [1] (note: you have to use the old URLs, minecraftwiki.net, minecraft.gamepedia.com, minecraft.fandom.com).  Nixinova  T ⁄ C  01:19, 1 February 2026 (UTC)

A lot of images are used here, the loading speed is really slow. I have a suggestion: use template {{BlockLink}} instead. That way, the amount of data in the text will be much smaller, and loading speed will naturally improve.

I've also brought up this proposal on the China Wiki, but no one responded. This proposal has already been implemented on the French Wiki, see fr:Discussion:Bloc#Listes des blocs and fr:Discussion:Bloc#Liste des blocs : Problème technique.

I believe it would be good to separate the Java and Bedrock technical blocks because some are technical only in one version, putting them in a single list is confusing. I'm not talking about blocks exclusive to one version, but blocks that are non-technical in one version (usually the status of another block) and technical in the other.

Furthermore, there's no reason for the Java technical blocks to appear in Items, as they aren't items. I understand the Bedrock ones, but perhaps they could appear a little further down the list in Items, as they are only obtained using inventory editors or add-ons.
