Heyo, on the images of the llama and baby llama's creamy variant, you seem to have used to the texture from /entity/llama/llama.png which is actually a texture that is completely unused, as the creamy variant use the /entity/llama/llama_creamy.png texture. To say it more clearly, you've used the wrong texture for the renders of the creamy llama and its baby, and if would be great if you could fix it. :) Thanks in advance. - LevitatingSheep (talk) 12:32, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

About Baby Villager Files

[edit source]
Latest comment: 21 May 20172 comments1 person in discussion

Would it kill me to leave you alone for two seconds?! Probably. :P In your baby villager renders, they have the big-head-thing that most baby creatures have. I'm saying most because baby villagers are the exception. Zombie baby villagers have big heads though. So when you have the time, It'd be cool if you were to fix it. :) LevitatingSheep (talk) 20:52, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

I just realized that since baby villagers don't have big heads, their model is identical to their parents except smaller, so does this mean that they should use the same image as their adult versions? I mean, the Giant uses same model as zombie except bigger, and the giant uses the same image as the zombie, so should baby villagers and villagers do so too? Latest comment: 24 May 20172 comments2 people in discussion

I just noticed that on your villager renders and baby villager renders, you have one arm mirrored, but in game none of the arms are mirrored, it's only vindicators, illusioners and evokers that have one arm mirrored, so would you please fix this? :) LevitatingSheep (talk) 00:56, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

Also, looking at the difference between File:Farmer.png, File:Farmer_Villager.png, and File:Baby Farmer.png, I notice that they all use different lighting and color saturation. I don't know what's considered normal lighting, for these renders, but I think the baby and the adult ones used in the infobox ought to match each other, at least. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 04:47, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

Llama renders

[edit source]
Latest comment: 18 August 20172 comments2 people in discussion

Hey Oakar567, you just uploaded some new versions for the llama renders. While your work ist generally really helpful for the wiki, there are some major issues with these eight renders in specific:

  • main problem: the proportions are wrong – e. g. the heads of the baby llamas are too long and all legs are at the wrong position
  • the lighting is wrong – the shading is way too bright, this is not the way the lighting engine looks in-game
  • anti-aliasing – although many renders in the wiki use it, it really shouldn't be used at all; all renders are supposed to look exactly like the actual in-game content and the game simply doesn't use anti-aliasing in this way (visible by just taking a screenshot and zooming in on it), anti-aliasing even hurts the quality, because the renders have such a small resolution

These are the three main issues. Putting your latest version and the version from July 18 side by side makes them very obvious. Sadly the llama renders aren't the only ones to contain mistakes. Like the husk and baby husk; their arms are a bit too high up. They'd never be in that specific position in-game, no matter how much they're wiggling. The lighting is also not correct, in this case it's too dark. As you can see doing actual renders of mobs is not a good idea in general, because there is a lot of potential to make minor slip-ups. That's why I'd recommend you to check out a mod called "Mineshot". It enables the user to take isometric screenshots with no distortion in the fov. This way the object is guaranteed to look perfectly fine, and the lighting is correct, too. As you already noticed in the old llama renders, some visual artifacts can appear. But honestly they're so small that no one is really going to notice them and if I were to choose I'd rather accept these artifacts than a render with a wrong model/lighting. They can even be avoided by slightly adjusting the zoom level within Mineshot.
That's it, I really hope I wasn't too harsh or anything; and if I was, I didn't mean it. As I said at the beginning, your work is really helpful and much appreciated, don't forget about that. It's just pointless if it contains these minor issues which result in someone having to redo them at some point anyways. – Fusseel 19:34, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Old beacon render

[edit source]
Latest comment: 29 August 20171 comment1 person in discussion

Hi! I just saw you replaced one of the old beacon renders that was actually quit wrong before and now I'm a bit curious. How exactly did you do this? I don't suppose it's a screenshot, as they aren't really suitable for blocks, but how did you create the model then? Did you just try to match the in-game model as close as possible, or did you extract the model from the code itself? If this is the case I'd love to know how you actually found it, as there is no MCP for snapshots and without it no real way to properly decompile the code.
And just one tiny note: please try to use 300×300px in the future as it is the new standard. – Fusseel 07:21, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

Armor Renders

[edit source]
Latest comment: 14 May 20203 comments2 people in discussion

Hello, to be up front this question is in regards to a different wiki; if your willing to still help read on, but if not I understand.

What I'm trying to do: Create 3D renders of a player wearing different armors in a standardized view. All equipment is just vanilla equipment, either using dyed leather, normal metal armors, or player heads with custom assets (the armors preferably using V1.8 assets since the server is on 1.7/8).

The issue: Sadly 3D modeling is not my strong suit. While I've found various models / guides on modeling just a skin (the Project:Standardized views page even has a player blend file), I've found very little on how to render a model with armor on. I was hoping you might know of some guides or resources on setting up player renders with armor, or better yet a blend file or such I can swipe. I'm willing to figure parts out (like adding dye colors to leather), but am not sure what the exact dimensions are for armor in relation to a player (and mapping textures isn't my strong suit).

Thanks for any help you can offer, Fewfre (talk) 17:42, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

For armor renders I used Mineshot mod( This modification gives you ability to take isometric screenshots directly in-game) to make sure the lighting and model is correct. Oakar567 () 17:45, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
Alright, thanks! Was hoping to do it without a mod, but guess that's easier than rendering everything. Fewfre (talk) 17:59, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

"Idle" pose on most Minecraft Dungeons Mobs

I man, sorry for bothering you. 2 things: First could you tell user TheOrangePick that i was very sick and with high school problems and that's why I wasn't active. I tried to talk to him but for some reason i can't access his talk page. Must be because of the recent migration. Now the 2 thing is this: I've been noticing that recently you have been changing most minecraft dungeons mobs renders to more "complex" ones. I must say that I just love it however, the Arch Illager, the Wind Caller, the Mage, the Illusioner, the Web Spider and the Nameless One still have the same lame and boring isometric renders. Could you please change that to make them match the others? Thanks for the attention, I will try to talk to user TheOrangePick one last time if it works. Thanks man and sorry for bothering you.Witheremperor2006 (talk) 00:57, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

Well, for the Web Spider and Mage there wasn't any animations or poses I think, but someone might wanna check. For the Nameless One, Illusioner, Arch-Illager and Wind Caller don't really have an idle pose, they just stand still. James Haydon (talk) 03:57, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

It was mostly trial and error on my part and people's implementing the css styling. Header background consist of 3 tiles 26x78 pixels (which equals to 3 8x8px mini blocks + 2 additional pixels in width) which got upscaled by 600%.
Background is double the size of header background in width and height to contain more space for random ores, which are also placed on a grid. Oakar567 () 16:00, 23 March 2025 (UTC)

Unique logo for Russian Minecraft Wiki

[edit source]
Latest comment: 6 June 202522 comments2 people in discussion

Seeing a few other wikis already doing the same, I’d like to see how MCW logos with the words “Русскоязычная Minecraft Wiki” would look like. That name (literally “Russian-language Minecraft Wiki”) is being used increasingly more on RuMCW since the fork (when we added it to our Pagetitle), and having it on the logo would be a logical conclusion. Since the first word is quite long, I guess it’s better to have “Minecraft Wiki” together on the second line. For a compact icon for social media icons and such, prepending “RU” to “MC WIKI” should be enough.

I think it would be nice to have the logos ready by June 6, the Russian Language Day. BabylonAS 07:11, 5 May 2025 (UTC)

I should be able to make them in time, but I have few questions:
  • If possible - Could you list logos that have to be changed (including gadget ones)?
  • What form of communication would you preffer? I suspect with such long header and custom letters, there might be some revisioning even before vectorizing.
Oakar567 () 07:48, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
  1. Regular Minecraft and Minceraft (both with and without globe), as well as winter, Nether, and Halloween.
  2. I guess this talk page should suffice. I don’t want to force you to join Zulip or RuMCW’s Discord server, which is also bridged with Zulip.
Actually, since “Minecraft” is the dominant word in the original logo, with larger letters, having it on one line with “Wiki” might not be optimal, but then we’re going to have three lines. I don’t really know what is worse.
As for letters, some of them — at least in uppercase — usually look the same between Cyrillic and Latin (even though they don’t always match in sound value), those from the word “Русскоязычная” being Р, С, О, Н and А. Я can be safely mirrored from R. While many sans-serif fonts have subtle differences between Cyrillic К and Latin K — the uppercase Cyrillic letter is usually more symmetric along the horizontal axis, and the upper diagonal spur is sometimes curved — the Latin letter in “Wiki” is already symmetric, so I guess it could be reused too. However, Cyrillic uppercase У and Latin uppercase Y are always different (lowercase tends to be the same). Finally, the letters З, Ы and Ч are without graphic Latin counterparts. Flat version of the header ready: imgur.com/TxpGvYg.png. Let me know what you think, before I move on with 3Dfing and vectorization. Oakar567 () 13:55, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
Looks like you got the letter З wrong, it's more like Э instead, and the middle bar is offset. Also I think “Minecraft Wiki” should be bigger. BabylonAS 20:05, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
Tweaked it: imgur.com/pIbJmXJ.png. Oakar567 () 14:21, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
You got me completely wrong. I said it must be З, not Э. BabylonAS 21:00, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
Would this work imgur.com/eHLfamS.png? Oakar567 () 09:34, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
Still not there, though close now. The letter З should have a small nick next to the middle bar, because it actually consists of two arches, unlike Э which is a single arch (like a reversed C) with a proper middle bar. Sorry about not elaborating on such stuff initially. I fear that executing this effect might be difficult under the logo’s pixelated font style; I tried removing two pixels from the letter’s back, and while it did become clearly recognizable as З, it also looks a bit weird, though it might be the only decent option.
I haven’t covered the two other unique letters yet. One quirk of the letter Ч is that the middle bar is not quite on the same level as on H (both Latin aitch and Cyrillic en). Actually it’s not a bar, it’s a subtle curve that at its lowest is below H’s horizontal bar, then goes slightly up when meeting the right vertical bar, similar to lowercase h but not as dramatic (see the Wikimedia Commons file demonstrating the arcing with Times New Roman). Obviously, the subtle arcing could not be properly executed in this style, but lowering the middle “bar” a pixel down could work, though it’s not a big deal otherwise. Note that the actual Minecraft font maintains distinction between the levels of Ч and H’s middle elements, though it conversely has the middle bar of H higher than usual.
As for Ы, the two elements should probably be placed one pixel closer to each other. The letter was originally a digraph, equivalent (in its current form) to the combination of letters Ь and І, the latter existing as an independent letter of the Russian alphabet before 1918 (and still remaining in use in Belarussian and Ukrainian alphabets, as you might probably be aware, judging by the wiki logo’s Ukrainian variant). Several fonts (such as Noto Sans) tend to differentiate between Ы and ЬІ by a slightly wider space between Ь and І in the latter case. BabylonAS 18:44, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
Adjusted based on feedback: imgur.com/hvnAlI0.png.Oakar567 () 16:31, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

Now it looks decent, though the one-pixel cutouts of the black border (near the Я letter) are a bit weird to look at. BabylonAS 18:17, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

Removed, do you see something else to tweak or should I move on with rest of the process imgur.com/pn5a4ex.png? Oakar567 () 06:43, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
I think you're good to go. BabylonAS 05:30, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
Done mediafire.com/file/ru logos.zip Oakar567 () 12:05, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
Seems like it looked way better without the globe... The wider second line clashes too much with the cube’s visually narrowing lower part. Should have probably used three lines instead, i. e. just added “Русскоязычная” above the usual Minecraft Wiki label, and maybe shifted it down slightly. As a standalone text-only label, the two-line version is fine, but would it be better to have the text-only logo be consistent with the globe logo? I don’t really know. Anyway, that’s just my opinion, so far no other RuMCW editors have commented on it.
The social media icon appears to be decentish, though at first I thought the spaces are too wide. We could also make use of a winter version — last winter our social media accounts simply used “large” winter logos with the full Minecraft Wiki label which is not legible at small sizes. — BabylonAS 17:43, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
Actually the social icon’s label is too wide: some parts of it are cut if trying to cut the icon into a circle. Also, given that today is Technoblade’s birthday (and June 30 brought us news of his untimely death), I think about having yet another variant with his crown somewhere to honor him. BabylonAS 07:24, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
Made adjustments according to feedback, also including winter and Technoblade social logos mediafire.com/file/ru_logos_rev2.zip. Oakar567 () 15:51, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
Much better... except only now did I notice that the letter Н in the “full” logos is one pixel too wide. Apparently you based it off Latin N, where it was probably necessary due to the diagonal bar. Sorry for bothering you with requesting changes over and over, but I want to ensure the logo’s quality. Hopefully this would be the last change needed. BabylonAS 19:55, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
Here you go: mediafire.com/ru_logos_rev2p5.zip.Oakar567 () 13:44, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
Thank you so much! June 6 has already begun in the easternmost parts of my country, so I guess it’s time to roll the logos out. BabylonAS 17:13, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
Welp, looks like we would still need a two-line version of the text-only SVG logo, as the three-line one is taller and affects our main page. Can you please do such a logo with the letter Н’s width fixed? BabylonAS 11:33, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
Sure: mediafire.com/ru_header_twoline.zip. Oakar567 () 17:03, 6 June 2025 (UTC)

The Chinese MinecraftWiki's Spring Festival theme background image has been designed and can be referenced here. If you have time, please discuss the detailed design ideas😊. APX201 (T) 12:12, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

Confirmation about the modified logos

Please confirm that the modified versions of the Wiki logo made by you (es, it, pt, ru) will be dual-licensed under CC BY-SA and CC BY-NC-SA (similar to the English version). (I will also ask the authors of the logos on ko, lzh, uk for the correct licensing of those logos.) TigerZhang (talk) 08:07, 7 March 2026 (UTC)

We also to clarify the licensings of File:Winter wiki.png, File:Wiki-logo-nether.png, File:Wiki cube hydra.png, File:Minceraft.png and other themes of logos on all wikis. That may be difficult and I need help. TigerZhang (talk) 08:22, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
For hydra logo and File:Minceraft.png - I think licenses should stay as they are. Oakar567 () 11:13, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
Yes, dual-licensing is fine, but can also be just one them. This also applies for themed logos. Oakar567 () 11:11, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
