The term objective refers to mission checkpoints that are completed as a player progresses through missions. They are completed in a variety of ways, whether it be simply walking into a certain area, freeing captured mobs, activating beacons, surviving ambushes, defeating bosses, or using key golems to unlock locked gates.

Objective Types

[edit | edit source]

Captured Mobs

[edit | edit source]

A captured mob is a type of interactable mob found in various missions. They must be rescued by the hero in order to progress through the mission. Freeing enough of these mobs in total will also grant extra trading slots from the Village Merchant. They are immune to all forms of damage.

Beacons

[edit | edit source]

A beacon is an interactable structure (although considered an entity internally) with a lever on it. When interacted with, the lever will flick down, and the top of the structure will shift and make way for a beacon beam to emit from the center of itself. Beacons often come in pairs, summon hostile mobs when one is activated, as well as opening a gate and completing the objective when all beacons are activated. Note that unlike beacons in the original game, these beacons do not provide positive effects to nearby heroes, nor do they damage mobs like the corrupted beacon artifact.

Ambushes

Bosses

A boss is an especially strong enemy, each of which only appear in one dedicated mission. Defeating the boss will complete the objective.

Key Golems

[edit | edit source]

A key golem is mob that can be "picked up" by attacking it, and is used to open any gate of its color, usually summoning mobs when first picked up. Opening a corresponding gate will complete the objective.

The mobs that can be captured mobs include the following:
