Forum:Family photo

I propose that, annually, we create a "family photo" of wiki editors. The family photo will be a collage of screenshots showcasing wiki user's Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons, or Minecraft Legends skins in-game. See the RuneScape Wiki variation of this idea to understand the idea more. Some more specifics:

• The photo will aim to be released on June 16th, the anniversary of the English Minecraft Wiki. If, somehow, for some impossible reason, we find ourselves completely incapable of releasing the photo of the anniversary, we can simply do it in one of the days surrounding it.
• Each user's name will be included in their photo. User's are expected to do this themselves.
• Due to the above point, users must have an account to participate, but there are absolutely no other restrictions on participation
• The photo can have the player holding items, wearing armor, have a mob near them, etc. The only restriction is that it must clearly show the player in third person.
• I will bear responsibility for creating the final photo assuming I am available, which I will make a great effort to be. In the event that I simply can't make the time for it, I will bother another admin to do it.
• Photo submissions will begin on May 16, one month before the aimed photo release. This means the submission phase will be shorter this year, but I think that does not matter.
• The Editor role will be pinged in Discord and a notice will be put on the portal when photo submissions open.
• Photo submissions will happen on external image sites such as Imgur. Full instructions will be given to users on a Minecraft Wiki: page.

Why? Because it would be fun. But more specifically, community stuff is great. If we never celebrate the community and have fun, then wiki editing eventually just becomes a job. The family photo will not take significant time from any editor. Even for me, the one that will organise it all, it will be a simple job once a year. I mention time to make clear that this will not waste any of it.

While I came up with a variation of this idea some time ago, this specific version of the idea is quite blatantly taken from the RuneScape Wiki, which does exactly this. All credit goes to them, another one of their smart ideas.

As with any proposal, feel free to argue with anything I've said here. But more specifically I want to hear what people would like to name the photo. RuneScape Wiki uses "Family Photo" and I have said that phrase here, but I am eager for a unique name, so please give suggestions.

 Support. I love this idea! I had a random idea sort of like this with the same idea. This'd be great to allow people to feel involved in the wiki! I have one question, though; say a group of editors gathered together in Minecraft and had a group picture taken, which would then be put into the photo. Some people wont need their name added, only the people whos wiki name is different from their MC name

I find the term "Family Photo" very fun and self-explanatory, but if anyone can come up with one, a more community specific term could be fun. Perhaps some sort of pun based on a Minecraft objects or term. — 👁 Image

When instructing how to add your name, I don't think it's a good idea to use signs because the text is very small. We could rather mention text displays. 👁 Image
