A jetpack is an item created by Henry, based off of a mathematical formula he created in his spare time, which ended up destroying Chuggy the Chip.
At Chuglass High School, Henry's class did still life art. Unique to other students' drawings, a jetpack was featured on Henry's drawing.
When Trevor and his friend asked for a jetpack, Henry built the jetpack and attached it to a life-sized skeleton model. Trevor's friend then cut a wire and it crashed into Chuggy the Chip, which got Natalie fired.
In the end of the movie, Henry rebuilds the jetpack and flies with it, and Trevor's friend got surprised.
Jetpacks are used to fly in the air, similar to elytra, albeit mechanically. In order to fly, they require fuel, in the form of batteries. Cutting a wire can cause it to malfunction.
