A chest is a type of container used to store items.
Chests are containers made out of wood with a hinged top that opens, and a metallic lock on the front. Ender chests appear similar, but are made of a dark turquoise material, presumably obsidian, with an ender pearl-like eye on the front.
Chests are used to store objects, such as axes, swords, or the Earth Crystal. They can be openly fairly quickly, though can be slightly loud, making them less than ideal for sneaking around. Unlike other depictions, they do not appear to hold more space than is physically possible.
