An Earth crystal is an artifact that appears in A Minecraft Movie. It can be combined with the Orb of Dominance to create an Earth Cube and open an Earth portal. There are at least two Earth crystals, one was found by Steve and destroyed by a skeleton, the other was found by Henry in the woodland mansion, while Steve and Garrett fought a chicken jockey.
An Earth crystal is a glowing light blue square container that the Orb of Dominance fits inside of. On it is text written spirally in the Standard Galactic Alphabet that reads, "iron gold stone gate head home."[1]
The Earth crystal acts as a bridge between the Orb of Dominance and Earth. It has the ability to create a portal to and from Earth using the Orb of Dominance as an energy source. Should the Earth crystal and Orb of Dominance be separated, the portal will shortly deactivate. but when that combination is put into a beaker it will cause the great darkening to happen on earth.
Steve discovered the Earth crystal while mining on Earth and inserted the Orb of Dominance into it, creating a portal to the Overworld. After Dennis delivered them to Steve's house on Earth, they were sold to Garrett Garrison, and eventually Henry found them in Garrett's store, Game Over World. Later, in the Overworld, a skeleton shoots the Earth crystal, causing it to break.
Another Earth crystal was found in the top floor of the woodland mansion by Henry, guarded by an enderman.
