Diamonds are a valuable mineral in the Overworld, found deep below the surface.

Appearance

[edit | edit source]

Diamonds are a cyan gemstone, coming in many distinct shapes and sizes, such as a tower. The ore is primarily found embedded in stone, with little speckles of the material peeking out, emitting a faint glow.

Properties

[edit | edit source]

Diamonds are a versatile, durable material, used to craft items such as swords and armor. They are shown to be the most durable material in the film’s universe, and the strongest in combat too. When Steve uses it in the final battle, it is not able to withstand a blow from Malgosha’s staff, but still protects Steve. However, they cannot survive an attack from the Great Hog, shown when it obliterates the diamonds Garret wanted and Steve waits to attack Malgosha until she sends the Great Hog off.

History

You can help by expanding it.

Years ago, Steve discovered diamonds in a cave and learned of their durability as armor and strength as weapons, stashing an inhumane amount in the Redstone Mines and articles of diamond elsewhere in Steve's Secret Stash! and taking a diamond pickaxe to the Nether with him. Around then, Garret Garrison learned of the monetary value of diamonds.[citation needed]

Years later, Garret was sent into the Overworld, and learned of the dimension's riches in Midport Village. He and Steve struck up a deal to stop by the Redstone Mines so Garret can get diamonds in exchange for the Orb of Dominance. Unfortunately, the attempt bombs and the diamonds are lost, Henry calling out his friend's greed.

To counteract the Great Darkening, Steve mined diamonds and utilized them for a sword and armor to battle Malgosha. It is unknown if Steve later got Garret more diamonds to pay his debts.
