The basement[1] is a room underneath the hall, used by Ivor as a base of operations during his conflict with the Order of the Stone.
The basement is located beneath the hall, accessible through a door on the left.
Ivor has used the basement for an unknown period of time, storing the materials needed to build a wither that he could command.
The events unfold after Ivor scammed Jesse and Petra during a transaction. In search of the stolen wither skull, Jesse and their gang track Ivor to the basement. They begin searching the area, and Axel finds a glowing potion. Depending on the player's choice, either Jesse or Axel takes the potion and substitutes it with another nearby potion. After taking it, Jesse notices a lever right where the nearby potion was found. Toggling the lever opens a hidden passage behind a bookshelf, revealing a configuration of command block, soul sand, and a chest containing three wither skulls.
As they talk about the configuration, they suddenly hear Ivorβs voice, rehearsing lines he plans to say to someone, who later turn out to be Gabriel. The group hides, and then Jesse decides to confront Ivor. Ivor then constructs an iron golem to stop them. The gang quickly flees the basement, except for Lukas who is inadvertently left behind. Jesse must then choose between getting Gabriel to help or returning to the basement to rescue Lukas. If Jesse chooses to go alone, Gabriel can be heard offering words of encouragement, saying, "..anyone can be a hero.", as Jesse prepares to enter the basement door. Inside, Jesse finds Lukas hiding in a chest. By throwing a potion to distract the iron golem, they are able to escape the basement.

- Jesse: Thereβs no way he wonβt notice his fancy potion is missing.
- Axel: A good thief always covers his tracks.
- (Axel grabs and puts the bad potion on the stand.)
- Axel: Fixed it!
- Jesse: Oh, yeah, the perfect crime.

- (The bookshelf wall lowers itself, revealing the wither storm construct behind it.)
- Jesse: What the hell is all this stuff?
- Petra: Soul Sand. It was everywhere in the Nether.
- Jesse: What about that block in the middle?
- Olivia: I've never seen one of these before... I wonder if I just -- take a closer look...
- (Olivia reaches out to touch the command block.)
- Olivia: Do you feel that? Itβs -- almost pulsing.
- Axel: How is it glowing like that?
