Source possibly inaccurate

This feature was not shown at or announced at Minecraft Live unless a timestamp can be provided and instead was shown in a screenshot given to YouTubers though it can also be seen in a sportsskeeda article where they obtained this or got this from is unconfirmed though it says that it was from Mojang Studios so it could of been given to news outlets as well and not just YouTubers
Here is a section of fWhip's stream where the screenshot was shown https://youtu.be/ehTwoPoA_Uk?t=3304 there was also a mention of there being another thing that they were told about but I haven't gone through the entire stream to know what that was RadioactiveMushroom (talk) 18:27, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure it was displayed in Minecraft Live (albeit maybe not mentioned), I'll find a timestamp ~2026-CodZoglinCreeper11862 (talk) 08:08, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- Nevermind, watched it a few times over can't see anything ~2026-CodZoglinCreeper11862 (talk) 08:29, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- The image was uploaded by @User:PotatoMan3525463 (aka @CagilMartin on twitter) so it's very likely legit. Can you give us a source for it potatoman? (And if the name is conjectured or not?) TheCaptainYaya (talk) 08:37, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- the source was mojangs content creator email they send out to people early, this is official PotatoMan3525463 (talk) 10:06, 31 May 2026 (UTC)

Is the name official Nixinova T β C 06:48, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- It wasn't mentioned during LIVE itself, it may be from the developer screenshots but I'm not sure. TheCaptainYaya (talk) 07:19, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- Given the lack of responses/no apperent sourcing for the name, I have added the conjecture template. TheCaptainYaya (talk) 03:59, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
This page says that the shelf mushroom bounces entities that land on it, where is this information from? π Image

- Seems it was originally added by @User:Jaime-Spec_MC, could you add a source please? TheCaptainYaya (talk) 23:42, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- The YouTuber bobicraft was part of the MC live meeting thing so he already tested the features before Jaime-Spec MC (talk) 23:55, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- Please put citations then. π Image
QwertyLilley [talk] 22:51, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- Harristic already knows it though Jaime-Spec MC (talk) 23:16, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- How is Harri relevant?? We need citations so we (everyone, both readers and editors) can verify if an information is true. It's for documentation purposes. The shelf mushroom wasn't talked about in Minecraft Live, so most people wouldn't know where these info come from. π Image
QwertyLilley [talk] 23:47, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah I'm going to remove the information until a proper source (preferably with a timestamp if its a video) can be provided. TheCaptainYaya (talk) 00:08, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- It's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg7NNtjo5RI&t=262s CubeCode94 (talk) 11:26, 3 June 2026 (UTC)

- We did not put the conjecture template on soon enough it seems.... but if anyone can provide evidence for an official name please go ahead. TheCaptainYaya (talk) 15:11, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
- YouTuber highkeyoli confirmed he's played with the shelf mushroom and I see no reason why he'd come up with that name. And that's also the case for others who've been there.
can't link it rn just look up his most recent short MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) π Image

- If it's a natural name then people will use it independently. Still not official though. Nixinova T β C 20:56, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

- There is more than one polypore, so how can you be sure it's based on that one? We can't name the page after a specific species when it hasn't even officially confirmed it's based on it. Renaming this page is also unnecessary because the current name is already generic, and the official name will be revealed later anyway. π Image

Java 26.3 snap-1 and Bedrock 26.40.27 released today. Placed shelf mushrooms are small by default. You can use bone meal on the shelf mushroom to make it grow. PuggyLines (talk) 16:56, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
A question Coolguy202 (talk) 18:42, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- What is your question? TheCaptainYaya (talk) 18:42, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- It has come to my attention that the smaller mushroom seems bigger than the larger one in the infoblock, is this on purpose? Coolguy202 (talk) 18:43, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you to @BDJP007301 for fixing this. Coolguy202 (talk) 19:02, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
In the bouncing section:
"The entity's fall distance is set to 50% of the actual distance fallen, which results in the entity taking half of the normal fall damage."
My understanding of fall damage is that for every block you fall past 3 blocks, you take 1 damage (half a heart) when landing, so for example if you fell 6 blocks you would have fallen 3 blocks past the safe threshold and take 3 damage.
According to the article, if you fall on a shelf mushroom, your fall distance is halved and you take half the damage as a result, but if you fall 6 blocks, half of that is 3, so you end up in the safe threshold and take 0 damage, which last time I checked is not half of 3.
I'm assuming the intention was to convey that you take half the fall damage when landing on a shelf mushroom. Funni Dot (talk) 16:15, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- You are correct, the wording is slightly incorrect. The fall distance is set to 50% and this generally results in taking a bit less than half of the normal fall damage, as the first 3 blocks of falling are not counted for fall damage. Indeed, falling 6 blocks on a shelf mushroom deals no fall damage at all, because it's as if the player fell 3 blocks and thus it's within the safe threshold. --Capopanzo (talk | contribs) 16:33, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
