I feel like we can categorize some branches by size, and perhaps have slightly separate criteria for sizes. Basically I think that the branches are the following sizes:

• MC: Small
• Realm: Large
• MCW: Medium
• Misc: Large
• Digital: Small

These correspond to activity levels and sizes of the branch of course. But what do the sizes mean?

• Small means that when a topic could fit under either one of two branches including a small one, then the user should talk about it under the small one.
• Medium is sort of a neutral ground between the two others.
• Large means that if a topic pertaining to a large branch could also feasibly fit under another, smaller, branch, then the topic should be discussed in the other one.

Of course, the sizes also help with CF maintenance stuff and also help people keeping track of stuff on the CF get a wider picture of the branch activity levels.

Size updates would likely come with CF cleanups.

Okay. Y'all, here's one of the best things about this: It'd make it easier to figure out where to make a TC comment about a topic that could fit under two branches. For instance, above on this page there's a conflict about whether or not discussions about movie watching would fall under Misc or D. This would clear that up as an easy D, since that branch is small and the Misc branch is large. Plus, another example would be if I wanted to talk about my MC parody of the Twelve days of Christmas, which is MC/Misc. "I know PhoenixAsh89 created the forum, but I think moving it to User:CF would make the page name shorter and be more reflective of what the Chat-Forum is for. Also, the "branch" prefix could potentially be removed. Or it could be kept.

This move basically means:

• User:PhoenixAsh89/Chat-Forum -> User:CF
• User:PhoenixAsh89/Chat-Forum/* -> User:CF/*

It should be easy to do this.

• I'll just move User:CF to User:CF/Swap_in_progress. With "Move associated talk page" and "Move subpages (up to 100)" enabled, and "Leave a redirect behind" disabled.
• Then I'll move User:PhoenixAsh89/Chat-Forum to User:CF. With the same settings.
• Then I'll move User:CF/Swap_in_progress to User:PhoenixAsh89/Chat-Forum. With the same settings.
• Then I'll update all links and pages to make sense.
  • i.e. have the correct {{redr}} usage, fix Reply Portals, etc.
• And then redirects will be updated. So
  • User:CF/AMCWR and User:CF/Realm -> User:CF/Branch/Realm
  • User:CF/Misc and User:CF/Miscellaneous -> User:CF/Branch/Miscellaneous
  • User:CF/MCW and User:CF/Minecraft Wiki -> User:CF/Branch/Minecraft Wiki
  • User:CF/MC and User:CF/Minecraft -> User:CF/Branch/Minecraft
  • User:CF/Digital -> User:CF/Branch/Digital
• No new pages will be created in Phoenix's userspace. Hopefully, assuming I don't mess anything up.
• All of this will be done using JavaScript. This should hopefully reduce the chance of human error and also mean it will be faster and cause less interruptions.

 Support, but you should do it a bit differently. Only move CF pages and subpages to a placeholder if they have edit history, all other redirects can just be kept or overwritten. This has nothing to do with F*ndom. This has been made initially because most users didn't have access to Discord or Zulip. While most users now do have access, some still not or only rarely. We also use this because:

• It's a small group of friends, not like Discord or a forum where the whole server is looking and chatting with you. Group-DM's exist but don't bridge to Zulip.
• We like the wiki chatting style, because we can play with wikitext, and we're actually replying to comments and topics instead of one single thread.

Additionally, we could have more colors for when multiple comments are made on the same level, and the colors could be more distinct.

We could also ensure comments have a minimum width when reaching a large indentation level.

And we could have custom colors for portal comments.

(About time I wrote this...)

Since 20 December 2025, I have been unsubscribed from all five CF branches. I know what every one of you will ask:

"Why?"

On the Miscellaneous branch on the 20th, there was a discussion that escalated past friendly chatting and into careless chatter, and then name-calling. Yes, name-calling. Knowing the CF community, I know that most of you will search the conversation message by message, word by word, for one hint of anything offensive. However, I doubt very much that any of you will find where the name-calling was. And no, before anyone asks, I will not say who sent the message. And before you say there is no namecalling, just know: saying that does not make it true. I indeed helped create the CF, but if name-calling is the state that it is now, it is no longer the same as what I once wanted to help create.

Two members of the CF have known that I've unsubscribed from all branches for some time. I will not say who, and leave it to the two that already knew this to say, if they wish, that they knew. I also leave the CF community to update the main CF page to account for my leaving. I ask CF members to not contact me via the CF, but through Zulip, email, or my talk page.I will continue to be subscribed to this topic and may reply to messages left here.

Lastly, I offer to somewhat maintain a presence on the CF, if members want me to, to help with TCS and reverting spam, as well as contributing to guideline-related discussions. In this scenario I will not chat on the CF, nor will I want to be notified of non-CF related things there, but I will still be there. Again, only if current members want me to do so -- not otherwise.

It has been three months since I left.

It is my decision that most of the several circumstances that led to my leaving are no longer the case. Therefore, I have decided to rejoin the CF, perhaps not to be the most active, but to still have the option to comment. The CF will not spam my notifications; I have seen that it is no longer very active.

I compare this to when I wanted to join Zulip. I looked at what was happening often, and wished to comment sometimes. Not only that, but it is much easier for my friends, many and most of which are on the CF, to contact me there. I understand how my situation with Zulip has made it hard for communication to occur.

I apologize for leaving so dramatically and then changing my mind as such. I look forward to my second time as a member of this sub-community. ~ NG2K  17:58, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Topic Creator archives are growing longer and longer. Some of them have 200,000+ or even 300,000+ bytes.
