The Swedish government decided on Thursday to immediately allocate SEK 1 billion (over $110 million) to Ukraine for energy support in 2026, the SVT television portal reports.
"Swedish aid will be immediately directed to power plants, heaters and spare parts needed to restore Ukraineβs energy supply," Minister for Development and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa said.
Temperatures are expected to drop to minus 25 degrees Celsius next week in cities including Kyiv and Kharkiv, according to the statement.
