The Great Bungus, also known as the Powerful Bungus, and Bungus, was the leader of the largest piglin clan within the Nether of Minecraft Legends: Return of the Piglins. Their name was mistaken as Great Fungus and Fungus by Farnum due to the language barrier.

The possible appearance of The Great Bungus is hinted on the cover of the book. It is likely that they looked like a portal guard from Minecraft Legends wearing the horns and crown of the Great Hog.

Biography

Originally, Bungus was just another piglin brute in the litter, described by Kritten as a brutish bully. However, using Kritten’s aid they rose up the ranks of a large bastion led by the Great Grungert, before declaring themselves the new ruler. Initially they were said to be quite grateful and generous to Kritten, valuing their insight like no one else, but over time let the control get to them. By the time we meet them, Kritten was just another face in a room to Bungus, treating them with regular verbal abuse and negligence.

As the leader of the largest—and arguably the most powerful—clan of piglins in the entire Nether, Bungus liked to make demands and to have them answered instantly. They hadn’t fought their way up to the top of this heap to have people ignore their demands, no matter how ridiculous they might be.
